Hi everyone,
I am farily new to 40k but familiar with WHFB (10 years +).
I am currently playing tyranids, wich is very frustrating due to instant death by anyone and overall an underperforming army.
But even more confusing to me is: When i look batreps online to learn more about tyranids in between my own matches i see new units.
Like the "tyranid droppod" or several others and a lot of formations. So how can i make sure to get all information? Where do I get
all rules for all models?
Same goes for Eldar, I plan to parallel build up a small eldar force but there are forgeworld models i cannot find in my codex.
Please help me !
Probably thats totally easy for you, but in my simple fantasy world I am used to buy an armybook and have all the infos i need.
PS: I am no native speaker, as you figured out by now. Sorry in advance

The Leviathan supplement has the Nids extra units. There are formations to be found on the Black Library website as well, that aren't available in print. It's really annoying how spread out the Nid's stuff is.
Imperial Armour 11: Doom of Mymeara has the Forgeworld units and rules for Eldar.

The rules for Tyranids are split between multiple books, digital datalslates, and White Dwarf articles.
I'm really hoping they at least get the Codex Chaos Daemons treatment where the additional content is added to a reprinted codex.

Welcome to GWs new business strategy, force people to buy not just a codex but also a supplement, campaign book and 3 random white dwarfs to have the full rules for their army. Forge the narrative!

The bare minimum you need is:
Codex Tyranids
Rising Leviathan 1, 2 and 3
Shield of Baal: Leviathan
These contain the majority of the formations and datasheets you'll need. I think there are still a few random ones that are not in these five books (such as the Spawn of Cryptus and the Genestealer cult stuff) but the core of most tyranid armies are from these books.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.
When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do. |

Hope this link helps you. Also a nice place where you want to talk or lately cry about Tyranids.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.
Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?
