Hi all,

Building some kind of inquisition force that I can ally into my other loyalist components and wanting to have two kinds of warband.. and for the life of me I couldn't decide what the best format for them is.. so here I am..

Close combat warband:

So the obvious choice here is death cult assasins and crusaders.. but I am leaning also towards having a couple of acolytes with flamers in there to burn things before I charge them.. so I thought of two compositions below:

A: 5 x Death Cult Assassins, 2 x Crusaders , 2 x Daemonhost , 2 x Acolyte with Flamer , 1 x Priest

B: 5 x Death Cult Assassins, 2 x Crusaders , 4 x Daemonhost , 1 x Priest , 1 x Pysker

I like the first one as I will be able to burn the unit that I am charging at before my troops get there and they also have some kind of overwatch should they be charged. The second one is purely for CQC and making sure I am rolling a lot of dice and killing a lot of things but also loses that overwatch.. both have advantages and disadvantages but I am unsure

Camping warband:

This is for literally staying at the back of the board and guarding home objectives but taking three acolytes with boltguns doesn't seem as though I will get something out of them as well.. one thing I am considering doing is having 2 acolytes with boltguns and a pysker which would make it easier to generate more warp charge for the two powers that my Inquisitor will have.. but I was also looking into servitors as well so they have some heavy hitting fire power.

I'm not quite sure on any compositions for this one so I guess this is the one I need the most help with!

Thanks in advance!!

I prefer arcos over daemonhosts. Hosts can be powerful but awfully random. In addition I usually don't mix Deathcults with other types of CC troops; they go for armor while the others go for hordes or drowning enemies in wounds. Mixing means you're mediocre at both, when both approaches requires spam.

I would do something like 7 Crusaders, 4 of either Death Cults or Arcos, and a Priest to buff CC squads. Crusaders are there to tank wounds while Arcos/Death Cults deal the damage. The reason for so many crusaders is because I want the squad to kill the majority of the enemy, but still leave some alive to go through the enemy's turn, so they can't be shot at.

For campers, I'd load up with Servitors and/or Jokaero. The reason I don't go for acolytes is because they're better used in chimeras as drive-by shooting squads of special weapons (they're dirt cheap for this role). Servitors bring heavy weapons for cheap and has decent range. Just make sure there's an Inquisitor with them to prevent mind-lock. I'd go with maybe 5 plasma cannons (which should be enough to flatten anything they shoot at) and then fill the rest with crusaders to tank wounds.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

For Campers prolly a Inquisitor Xeno with Conversion Beamer, Servitors Armed with heavy weapons. Get a Jokaero to enhance the squad, and place a few Crusaders for the nice save.
