Hello everyone. I am a bit of a newb with some questions about starting a 40k army. I played briefly before with Nids about 2 years ago, but got overwhelmed by the sheer number of models and the expense of the game. My play group also proved to be less dedicated than I had originally hoped and I found myself unable to find an opponent to learn the game from.

So here I am a second time, hoping to jump into the game and find a hobby I can enjoy with a community of like minded individuals. My first oreder of business is determining whether the game is still popular enough that I will not run into the same lack of opponents problem I had before. I live in downtown Denver, CO and although we have a GW store, it seems the tables are always being used for display or other games. I know of a few local gaming stores that may have players, but is 40k still popular or will I have the same trouble as before?

Outer Space, Apparently

Welcome to DakkaDakka!

If you're returning to the same area that you started in before, then you may struggle like before - there have been many discussions about current player counts, and most people agree that it is on the decrease.

Don't let that faze you though - just get out there and meet some new folk, find an independent club in your local area, and of course talk to people here on these forums who may be close to you.

Hope this helps you out

Happy hunting!
