D&D Mini's are a little smaller, but you have to see them up close to notice this. Also, the D&D mini's have a slightly higher base, so the *height* of the mini's is about the same. You won't notice these differences at the tabletop level, though. Also, the biggest difference that you will notice is that the D&D mini's are painted!
You won't notice the difference in scale with the large MD monsters, unless you mind a MD Roaming Monster that's bigger than one of the 40mm (?) dragons. BTW, If you price larger monsters at $6 each (Reaper Bones prices for a large figure), MD has 20 of these monsters.
