I am basically using models and bits and such from BaC

I can understand that the army lacks transport and sooner or later I will get some but this is typically what I will be working with. I can of course add Dreadnaughts but as far as a simple basic army this is what I have.

The Havocs and Termies speak for themselves, they are what I would call must haves in an Iron warriors army. Suggestions based around loadouts of BaC are welcome.

HQ: Golg - 175

Elite: 10 Tyrant siege Termies - 545

Trps: 15x Tactical- 200
Trps: 15x Tactical- 200

HS: 10x Iron havocs w/ autocannons - 310

What? in Book 3 they are counted as elites. is there an Errata somewhere for that?

changed as of the newest legion red book. They are HS now, and not elite. As such: You CAN'T use them as troops for PotL anymore.

Just to add on, golg doesn't make tyrants troops either. He makes normal terminatos troops.

I wouldn't use the autocannons on the havocs. They are better with missle launcher or lascannons. Lascannons are expensive but havocs can mix and match so say 4 lascannon 6 missles is a good squad. Cannons at the back obviously

Golges only use is when you want troop terminators. If you dont, dont use Golge. He is very poor character compared to siegebreaker or preator.

He isn't horrible, nice that he matches the BaC box commander hehe. Yeah they nerfed the crap out of tyrants by changing their slots. Guess FW got tired of seeing 30 converted Tyrants in every IW list plus the 3 heavy support.

A siege breaker is a much better character to put in a Tyrant unit because of the giving them Tank Hunter thing. And he can be your warlord.

Give your tacticals an apothecary with a scanner and a sgt with AA and melta bombs. Make sure to give a scanner to the havoks as well. Agreed with the above, give the missile launchers. 10 tank hunting, -1 to cover krak missiles are nasty. In a big game I was in last month it was a case each turn of what needs to die this time and it died every time, be it characters, command squads, or buildings.

Havoc Autocannons are fantastic dont worry about it if you want them they will earn their place whether you wanna kill tanks or infantry they do it well. Personnally i would get yourself another tactical squad so you have three core troops, grab a siege breaker and maybe a basic paragon praetor (although kyr vhalen is awesome so you will love using him) run hammer of olympia and theres nothing wrong with havin 10 lascannon havocs 10 autocannon havocs 10 missile launcher havocs and 10 tyant termies.

Go with ML for Iron Havocs vs autocannons. AC look cool, but Havocs w/ ML get flak/krack/frag all for 10pts. THey end up being you AT/AA/AI unit all in one.

Honestly if you really want to put ML havocs in your army (which i wouldnt reccomend till you get to 2k anyway) dont forget that Havocs can mix and match weapons so a single unit could be 5 ml 3 autocannon and 2 lascannon or whatever lol
