What isa good novel to start with to get into the war hammer world? I just gotwarhammer total war and would like more of a knowledge of the warhammer world. Is their a differemce since the age of sigmar? Are there aos novels?

'Murica! (again)

For AoS the first novel release was Gates of Azyr novella for starter box companion but I would suggest skipping to get a feel for the world (if you are OK with not going in order) with either Warbeast or Fury of Gork or Call of Archaon. You'll hear comments here probably about AoS vs. World That Was fiction and yeah, the old warhammer was 30 years making the best fantasy setting evah! (imo) but all that literature is still waiting there, so keep AoS and Warhammer Fantasy separate for your own sanity and enjoyment The Black Library groups or AoS groups on Facebook are also good resources as is The Grand Alliance group www.tga.community

Happy reading!

The Felix and Gotrek series of books are pretty good - they adventure around the known world slaying most of the foes you'll encounter.

There's I think 3 omnibus' these days, and they are pretty old, so you'll probably be able to find them for a few dollars each.

If you're interested in the Warhammer World history, then ignore any of the Age Of Sigmar stuff, it's totally different.

For the old, old world I really liked the Time Of Legends books - trilogies focussed on key players.

Time of Legends were great, Gortek and Felix is another people always recommended. Personally I loved the Ulrika the vampire stuff (a spinnoff off G+F).

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

The times of legends sometimes has lore gaps and mistakes. I say you should go with the gotrek and felix books. They should still be on black library if you don't mind using ebooks.

Then from there I say go end times if you are still interested then move into AOS books.

What I find interesting is that they are treating the warhammer fantasy books as history sort of old history. Since in the times of legends sigmar and nagash they put the main fantasy book's in order leading up to AOS and further on.
