Hey all. I have a couple quick tutorial videos on creating foam troop trays. When I make trays I prefer round holes drilled or cut directly into the foam. You can adjust the size of the hole depending on the size of your model. IMHO this is the easiest way to create trays and I have made several using this technique.
Simply draw a grid on your foam in the size you wish the holes to be then cut the holes. Last step is to glue a thin piece of foam or foam core, or hard board tot eh bottom. If you have really thick foam you can cut one trays worth of holes and then split the foam to make several trays.
Below are the videos for actually cutting the holes. With some nice cushion foam from your local hobby or fabric store you can have a decent trays ready to go in no time.
