So, I really want to get the Start Collecting Skitaari bundle, but then I have to get the codex right? Looking at GW's prices, it's $85 for the army and $45 for the codex? Is there a digital version cheaper, or should I just eBay and look for cheap bundles?

Digital codex is 23.99 for the eBook version, 32.99 for the Enhanced Edition. I have the enhanced myself. Prices are the same for the Cult Mechanicus codex.

Plus, let's not forget that the dominus's rules are in cult mechanicus codex, but there is a cheaper work around. Just buy an online white dwarf and you get the rules for the dominus seperate and cheaper. http://www.blacklibrary.com/whitedwarf/wd-issues/white-dwarf-issue-69.html

it's been rumored but we don't know for sure. we may get something like that in the FW release that will be late summer or so.

Not even counting the Codexes, the War Convocation Formation still requires a lot of money just for the models. The Start Collecting Skitarii will get you started as all models are used, but you still have to buy another box of Rangers/Vanguard (unless you build half and half from the SC Box), two boxes of Ruststalkers/Infiltrators, one of the Walkers, two boxes of Breachers, and a Knight at a minimum. I was a bit annoyed to only find only one of each Special Weapon in the box, and if I could do it all over I would have built four as Rangers and the rest as Vanguard to make a second Sniper from the next box I bought. Now I have to buy two additional boxes to have the setup I want (10 Vanguard, 5 Rangers).
I bought the WD Issue to have the rules for the Dominus (and WC Formation), but it would've been nice for them to throw his rules in too since there is no mention of him in the Skitarii Codex. I am holding off on finishing the other parts of my army until a combined codex is released though.
