The Great Troupe (Warzone: Valedor):
Formation
3+ units of Harlequins
3+ Dark Eldar Venoms OR Eldar Vypers

Crusader, Deep Strike, Preferred Enemy (Chaos)

ALL of their ranged weapons gain the Blind & Concussive qualities and if a unit fails their blind check on a roll of a six, they become "confused" and treat all of their melee weapons as Unwieldy for the rest of the game.

Nominate 1 Troupe Master to become a Troupe Leader: +1WS, +2BS, +1Wound, +1A
WS 7, BS 7, S 3, T 3, W 3, I 7, A 4, LD10, Sv -


So with the 120pt minimum for 3 Vypers or 165pt 3 Venoms, that's 1685-1730 points to spend on any Harlequin unit you want.
At the very least it frees up some formations people like from things like having to take a voidweaver.

What are some thoughts regarding possible changes to current Harlequin formations you can make and how to apply it here, as well as the benefits from the formation itself?

Given that Valedor was all about fighting Tyranids, why would they get PE (Chaos)?

Why Venoms and Vypers and not Starweavers, Harleys have the better small transport to begin with and I don't like the idea of mixing units from seperate codexes within the same detachment?

Confused lasting for the rest of the game is a bit much I think, and given that most of the army is I6 I don't see it making much difference.

How about rename Troup Leader to Great Harlequin and make him a paid for upgrade since your putting him on Autarch/Archon/Prince level. Say 25pts for the upgrade and another special rule to go with.

I'd drop the requirement to 2+ units, Harlequins cost a lot of points to be useful so it would be better not to force people to take loads of them which is the main problem with the codex. I'd also make options for 0+ on the Voidweaver, Skyweaver, Shadowseer, Death Jester and Solitair.

You give up run and charge turn2+ and any rerollables.

The Troupe Leader stats are alot closer to what a Troupe Master is suppose to be by fluff... but that's beast for 95pts.

I see the Venoms and Vypers as a cheaper method to fill the FA slot on a normal formation but keep generally the same weapons platform Starweavers or skyweavers are (shooting only)

Don't need a 0+ for those here. It's "units" You can take anything you want to fill the remaining 1685-1730pts
