Can't really comment on which list is better, but in the second list I would consider swapping the axe for goredrinker and replace the fist with a power sword. Power sword still benefits from the buffs provided by goredrinker and can power it up. It's only ap3 but goes at I so use it against anything that doesn't have a 2+. Once enough damage you have rampage, Sx2, S+1 and instant death, either at I with ap3 or unwieldly, but with another S+1 and ap2.

On the second list have you considered running a forgehost formation instead of the war engines. I understand you won't be generating blood tithe with your souls grinders now but the re roll to hit and wounds could come in very handy. Make those soul grinders so much more effective
