Hi people. So I was wondering how to start a SoH army for my local/ friendly league. So I got the OK from my group, we can convert the BaC models to represent other models (like putting top knots on the termies to represent Justaerin Termies, put some spiky helmets on the Tact to make reavers, etc.). However, the chaplain cannot represent a Master of Signal (and I'm not in the mood to make such conversion). So, what would be the best I could do with the content of the box ? I'm not asking for a list, of course (that's my job), but what would you recommend ?

They are pretty easy to convert. I've been stealing parts from chaos marines for years.

I recommend building the power armour guys as tacticals. They are a solid troop choice and with SoH special rules numbers are your friend in melee.

A master of the signal isn't too bad to convert. I used a grey knight interceptor backpack with the teleport prods cut off and a couple antennas added up top. Also ran a bunch of wires to the head (which had a targeter) I think I also used a little keypad from the RTB-1 box, an auspex, and some minor sculpting.

The 'chaplain' is in no way only a chaplain. EVERY centruion can take power weapons and plasma pistols to make him a MOS, AT MOST take a paper clip and convert it into an antenna.

the, IMO, 'best' way to build a single calth kit is:

1 Praetor (either model)
1 centurion (either model. In your case is gonna be a MOS)

2 15-man tacitcal squads (In your case, can also be reavers)

5 cataphractii terminators (In your case, can also be justaerin w/ fists (OR claws if they can't take fists)
1 contemptor w/ kheres+fist


from there, you have an infinite number of ways to expand and are not forced to play the (terrible) Pride of the Legion.
