Subject: Is my typical farsight tau list cheese?

My typical list goes something along these lines: 1 riptide with ion and fnp, 1 fusion blade commander with 2 and up invuln and hit/run donkey fist and jammer and 2 gun drones, 1 unit of 3 crisis suits with cyclic ion blasters and gun drones, 1 commander with puretide chip and 2 ion blasters and drone controller and 2 drones, 2-3 solo twin linked suicide melta suits with Flamers (or rather, seppuku-suits, or suit-icide suits), two allied detatchments, both with a cadre fireblade and 12 warriors. I also run a skyray and pathfinders in 2-3 units of 5.
The commanders ususally are put together into a super unit with the crisis suits, so the drones get bs5. They deep strike, shoot stuff to death, split up after the opponent kills most the drones. The blob shoots 40 shots and a melta, so it can kill damned near anything, and with hit and run its pretty easy for the unit to kill most anything short of a 2+ rerolling save. The fire warriors with fireblades tend to also do a gak ton of dakka. The riptide is my low armor save killer, and my suicide suits are my anti armor. The cqb commander is so I can grab cqb objectives and get tied down units out if trouble. I've roughly 14-19 markerlights in my typical 1500 point list tho, mainly because I'm banking on my pathfinders to drop like flies. This list has been min maxed to an extent through constant use, so bear with me. I don't often lose with it, and I've taken to sometimes using a retaliation cadre to make sure those pesky reserve rolls don't mess up my commander bomb.
I tend not to lose often with this, and in fact I ususally clean house against casual lists, so I'm not certain if this list is cheese. My goal is to make a good list, not a cheese one. =\ Id like to know if it's a bit much and I'd also like some advice. I'm considering taking more suits in the drop unit, maybe some guys with Flamers, or even farsight for that extra cc goodness and no scatter.

How is your commander getting a 2+ invul?
And eh, could be worse, far worse. Only one riptide, pathfinders instead of the drone formation, fireblades + warriors, and no buffmander are all more towards the casual side of things.

Meant to say 2up and invuln. Will edit.
Also fireblade + warriors is nasty man.

They can be, but they're also t3 4+ models, so not exactly hard to remove.

True. But I still find that for 168 points, a bs 5 markerlight and 24-36 shots is pretty good. They're just survivable enough to be annoying to kill, and they're a big enough threat to not ususally pull priority, whilst still being an annoying problem

I never said they were bad, just more towards the casual side, as for 168pts, you could instead get 3 crisis suits each with 2 MPs or cyclics ions for more utility.

True, true, but I find suits without drones to be simply asking to get dropped by a las canon or melta, and with only 18 inch range your gonna eat fire. One low roll on the thrust move and your boned. Fire warriors have better survivability, more dakka and better range. That being said though, missile pods are meh unless your packing a buff commander. I say always run broadsides if you want missile pods. That being said, I do feel broadsides out preform warriors and suits at the same price point.

Which is why I also said MPs, which have a 36" range, and being jet infantry, they can easily jump out of LOS/into cover.

Again, one bad roll and they're screwed without ablative wounds. And I think missile pods on broadsides outclass crisis suit pods spectacularly.

They have the exact same problem there. Broadsides die the same like crisis to lascannons. Drones are ok, but most of the time they're pretty meh, espeically for 14pts each. Exception is if you're running the drone network formation.
Difference is that crisis get JSJ, while broadsides survive small arms fire/AP 3 better, but at the cost of not having relentless. Both are good, broadsides get theirs TL'd, but again at the cost of not being able to JSJ.
