Hey everyone, love this forum. I want any and all ork players to help me out. Thinking of collecting Orks. Where should I start? I do love me a Big Mek with shock attack gun. thinking of a small 1000 point list.

1k's rather low for orks, you can't take fun things like the orcurion list. Anyway I would recommend warbike boys, or trukk boyz. The ork half of the vedros starter is a great place to get boys for cheep, and deffkoptas are excellent choices.

The shokk attack gun is the greatest weapon of the ork army. Look into the various books, such as imperial armor 8 (And the forgeworld pdf updating the rules to 6th edition). Waaagh ghazghkull is a must-buy if you plan on getting more then 1k points. Otherwise, stay away. Most HQ's, besides the shokk attack gun big mek and warbosses can be kitbashed with some creativity out of the various boxes.A painboss can be made out of a nob body, a burna boy's head, a nob circular saw arm and some plasticard and a shoota, for a needle gun. Orks are great for kitbashing and scratchbuilding, you may want to look into making some gobsmasha pattern battle wagons. I run them as supa-kannon battle wagons, or big trakks.
