Jealous that Horus is Warmaster

Boston

A few months ago House Griffith started a topic asking what people were running so I thought I'd resurrect the idea to see both what other folks here are running as well as what y'all are seeing in your games/tournaments.

Due to a scheduling change a while back, I haven't been able to make it to one of my usual gaming venues so my only other matches have been with a somewhat insulated club where one chap tends to run Vader (vi) and friends (usually another ace, a low cost named TIE /Ln and an Academy pilot ) and the other runs Boba and a Brobot (both with vi)... but from the YouTube video where I've been getting a secondary fix (and from regionals a while back) I also see a lot of Palpatine Aces and u-boats.

How about you folks? Still running /seeing the same kinds of things or is imperial veterans starting to make its presence felt?

I'm experimenting with Defenders and their title cards.

We have a campaign game tonight of ace vs ace. so i'm running Rex with the D title card and a tractor beam. interesting to see how it goes.

My last tournament I was running, prepare to be shocked and amazed, a list I call "Shotgun Wedding".

Talonbane, 2 Zeds, 2 Auto BTL Y-Wings

I was in the top 15 out of 30... I was 15. I saw Paul-Heaver 2015 variants, Large Scum ships, Crack, and Palp-Ace.

It most definitely was. I had an absolute blast with that list! The match of the night was when every single ship I had K-Turned after blocking to catch a scattered Crack-Swarm in a ring of death from all sides with Talonbane finishing it up by herding the survivors to their graves with typical Ace-maneuvering (Engine Upgrade).

Did I get a lot of Auto-Turret use? Not really, but boy did it yank the mind-games chain for the people who were like "What's that card?". I actually started tinkering with ideas for taking more Y-Wings instead of Zeds and giving them all Dorsal Turrets to compliment their BTL. for mini-Talonbanes. The new Fenn Rau might be a more cost effective replacement for Talonbane.

Recently I have mostly been playin'

3 Defender list, 2 Generics with the Evade title, and 1 Ace with the D title, tractor beams is fun

Dengar and Manaroo, although might change this to Fett and Manaroo, so in love with R5-P8

Brobots of assorted kinds, still good

Ghost list with Kanan, Biggs and assorted 3rd ships, not so good but somedays inducing Biggs rage is a win in itself

I haven't had much time to play, but some recent lists I've tried and enjoyed are:

Tomax Bren w/ Cluster Missiles, Crack Shot, GCs
Scimitar Squadron Pilot w/ Title, Systems Officer, Fleet Officer
3x Black Squadron Pilot w/ Crackshot
Howlrunner w/ Crackshot

Then of course there's the triple Defenders which was awesome. I'm also behind the curve and just recently got another Aggressor, so I've been wanting to play more Brobot lists.

And, as cheesy as it was, the past 2 tournaments (including the one I won to get that Brobot) I was running Triple Jumps.

Future Ideas include:

Dash + Lothal Rebel
4x Y-wings w/ Plasma, Targeting Astromech, GCs, and Extra Ordnance
4x X-wings w/ Proton Torps and GCs (Already tried this one, and it was awesome fun)
Something involving my 2 Mist Hunter ships
Manaroo with a mini-swarm of Zs

Just some lists I've been wanting to try.

I'd say we're seeing less of Soontir Fel in my meta. Imperial A-holes has been run by the Regionals winner for a couple of weeks now.

I can't wait to try Smuggling Compartments on a YT freighter with either APL and Ion Projectors and a Feedback Array.

Personally, I've been running a control list with a lot of success:
2 Blue B-Wings with FCS and E2/Tactician
1 Green A-Wing with Crack Shot, Adaptability and AT
1 Stresshog.

I have yet to face a single Triple Jump list, much to my dismay.

I've been poking around southern and central Minnesota lately. The meta has been more experimental lately.

Among Imperial lists, I'm seeing a lot of:
Palpatine+assorted Aces
Crack Swarms
3 Ace lists

I've been running Defenders at tournaments, but not doing so well. I don't see many of them otherwise - the Imperial meta is pretty stagnant.

Among Scum lists, I'm seeing a lot of:
Dengaroo
Hound's Tooth party bus + assorted other scum ships
Brobots
U-Boats (and variations with only 2 U-Boats)

I've also seen a lot of weird menageries of ships that are trying to exploit certain rule synergies. Lots of G-1A's, though not at top tables.

Among Rebels, I'm seeing a lot of:
VCX-100 + ace(s)
Biggs + other stuff (stresshog and Wes are common)
Corran + Poe + other stuff
Dash + Ace

The rebel lists don't seem to be adhering to specific archetypes. I'm seeing a strong resurgence in the use of X-Wings.

-Royal Guard TIE
-Autothrusters
-Stealth Device
-Push the Limit

Howlrunner:
-Crack Shot

3x Black Squadron Pilots:
-Crack Shot

99 Points.

I run 3 ace imperial lists.
Rebels are the most common, but there is a massive variety of rebel lists. The only regular scum player has a hwk,z95,starviper and kirhax. I'm the only regular imperial player

So you're saying he's a very hipster S&V player, right?

Unless you're about to visit Montreal, taking a trip down to Virginia just to get my ass whooped isn't in the cards.

I myself ran my first Imperial Veterans list today:

Rexler Brath (vi, x7, mk2), Inquisitor (usual) and a gamma vet (Proton Torpedoes, ion pulse missiles, Extra Munitions, Deadeye and guidance chips). And I discovered a surprising love for the bomber. At 29 points, it's a joy to have in my list in a way that Omega Leader never has been.

The ion missiles were there as an afterthought but going against a pair of large based ships made it worth it for the long range sniper shot (it hit ionization for a vi Boba Fett followed up with Proton Torpedoes the next round)... probably a bit of a fluke but I can see tossing a similar shot at an ace without feeling bad if I miss.

I also think (given that this list came in at 97 points) I may switch the EPT on Rexler or swap the Inquisitor for Vader (though giving up the TAP maneuvers will be hard).

I ran two lists over the weekend with great success.

the first was an ace v ace:
flew Rex, VI, D title and the tractor beam
opponent flew Wedge with R2 and a few other upgrades.

he only got off two shots the entire game. either he was on an asteroid thanks to the Tractor beam or stressed.

my second game was against a triple U-boat.
i flew Stele, Ryad and a Glave squad pilot all with X7 titles and VI. i danced around his ships and pretty much kept myself at Range 1, out of primary arc and an asteroid. superb flying and dice rolling on my half
