Hi there I have recently picked up the original starter set, and played through the missions with some friends and all 3 of us have become hooked by the game!

We have each chosen a faction to collect, and I have chosen the Rebels.

So my main question to you guys is what should I invest in to begin my Rebel collection? What are the good staple ships to have? What sets should I be looking at getting? etc.

Any and all help is appreciated,

Will

Rebels can have different play styles, much like the other factions, so it really depends on what you plan on doing.

First, I'd suggest getting the x-wing expansion to get more pilots. The y-wing is a fun ship, especially if you proxy. You can use Yet Another X-Wing Squad Builder to build squads and print your list at first. No one expects you to have all the cards.

If you want to incorporate big ships, the Millenium Falcon is a good staple. Otherwise a variety of As and Bs.

You are in a very special position that all hobbyists love: You are starting alongside other people who also have "nothing".

I do not think I could say what are the best ships but I have the following tip: If you are tight on funds or just want to be efficient, you can...

1. Be that DnD player that everyone loves and hates. Min-Max with your friends in your purchases. You(Rebels) and your buddy(Empire) are buying core sets? Trade the ships from the wrong team with each other!

2. Find combination purchases such as "A-Wing, B-Wing, and Rebel Aces". These sorts of products compliment eachother because they provide eachother cards.
2a. You like A-Wings and the third person in your group chose rebels as well but prefers B-Wings? Well, you know what to do! Each buy your ship and split the Rebel Aces pack.

3. You can even get super crazy and coordinate purchases with your Imperial and Scum friend(s) to trade upgrade cards that the other side might like more! Your buddy bought a Tie Phantom but doesn't need "Tactician"? You, the rebel player, will probably like it more so give him a card that he could probably use more! (Remember to watch out for cards like fire control system or veteran instincts because everyone wants them)
