Hi, wanted to try and make a bit of a different Eldar list from the Scatbike spam/Wraithknight lists.
I don't expect this list to be particularly competitive and only plan using it mostly in-store to play (hopefully) relatively friendly games.
The idea behind the list is to take advantage of the free fusion guns and guaranteed run from the Eldar Warhost detachment alongside the force multiplying effects of the Avatar.
Eldar Warhost Detachment - 1210pts
Guardian Stormhost - 650pts
Farseer - 100pts
10x Storm Guardians w/ 2x Fusion Guns and 2x Power Swords - 90pts
10x Storm Guardians w/ 2x Fusion Guns and 2x Power Swords - 90pts
10x Storm Guardians w/ 2x Fusion Guns and 2x Power Swords - 90pts
Vyper w/ Starcannon - 45pts
2x War Walkers w/ 2x Bright Lances each - 140pts
3x Vaul's Wrath Suppoer Batteries w/ Shadow Weaver - 90pts
Aspect Host - 365pts
4x Howling Banshees w/ Exarch - 75pts
4x Shining Spears w/ Exarch w/ Star Lance - 145pts
4x Shining Spears w/ Exarch w/ Star Lance - 145pts
Living Legends - 195pts
Avatar of Khaine - 195pts
Harlequins - Cast of Players - 290pts
Death Jester - 60pts
Shadowseer w/ Haywire Grenade - 65pts
5x Troupe w/ Harlequin's Caress and Troupe Master w/ Cegorach's Rose - 165pts
Total - 1,500pts
The Storm Guardians role will be to rush up the field using their 6" run and then use their fusion guns to pop vehicles/tough targets being charging. The idea is to try and support this charge with the Avatar to give them all Fearless, Furious Charge and Rage meaning they will put out somewhere in the region of 20 S4 attacks on the charge (assuming a few casualties before reaching the enemy).
The Avatar himself can also be used to pop vehicles and then take on tougher targets that the Storm Guardians can't really touch. The Shining Spears will take a similar role although I'm not sure whether I should keep them back near the Avatar to make their charges even more deadly or rush them ahead and hope that by the time the Avatar catches up they'll have mopped up their first target and be about to charge into something else.
The War Walkers will provide covering fire against tougher vehicles and the Vyper can be used to pop light transports. The Farseer will be put in with the Support Batteries which will be used to pick off high toughness/low initiative MCs.
The Howling Banshees will provide support against MEQs and potentially lead charges where Overwatch could be devastating to the Storm Guardians.
Lastly, the Harlequins will be used to take on pretty much anything with their caresses although I'm considering swapping them out for The Heroes' Path formation (Shadowseer, Death Jester and Solitaire) and then using the saved points to increase the size of the Howling Banshees.
