So I started an Imperium army. I have a couple dozen Blood Angels and a few Space Wolves. Recently i got my eye on some IG troops and I also discovered that I really like the AM and other SM chapters. As you can see my army tends to be a chop-shop motley crue of Imperial forces. So I want to ask this. Is this viable? Or should I stop? Can this army build stand against a normal army? If so what models should I buy from each separate army?

If you haven't already, buy the Codex pertaining to the army you wish to field. After that, ensure you have a Rulebook to hand.

Problem is I dont know wich Codex to buy, as i dont know what army i will build. As i said i want it to be something like a Crusade force which contains regiments from all the Imperial forces. I just want to know if i have any chance at winning with this build. Depending on the answer to that question i will buy the appropriate Codex.

Well, you can do it. But it will likely be awkward to construct, require several codexes and will usually have a rather odd feel to it.

My best recommendation is to buy the Get Started kits for each imperial faction. Each box comes with one standalone formation that can be used as its own detachment. One detachment for each faction, and you are done!
