The last thread of those cheese Marines lists was very interesting and the problem is that there's a very tough General who plays Blood Angels with 6 Speeders, 2 Baal's and a very large Death Company.
I want to build up a cheese Marines list which will help me beat this guy inthe next GT. Any suggestions..shall I go for a terminators army or Cheesee Marines???
Please post your lists cause I'm relying on your help </TD></TR> <TR> <TD class=alt1> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Space Wolves in drop pods love eating cheesy marines for breakfast. Use 3 or 4 Grey Hunter squads of nine with a wolf guard leader in each pack. Outfit the unit with two plasma pistol/powerfist, and one meltagun for any armor, the rest bolter/CCW. Give the wolf guard plasma pistol/powerfist. Add the deathwind launchers onto the pod. It's the best transport and only 50 pts. outfitted with the missles. Drop in close, fire the deathwind launcher and the storm bolter on the pod, and rapid fire with your hunters. Attack isolated units. You can drop in dreadnaughts. You can have wolf scouts enter from your opponents tableside. Take a Wolf Lord in Terminator armor and with a wolf guard bodyguards in termie armor and drop them where you will. Drop Pods=Havoc. And we all know that Havoc=FUN. Win or lose it'll make for a good game.

i play both blood angels and space wolves all i can say is that the blood angels are better in assualt due to higher I and S on the turn they charge, so stay out of range of the speeders and the baals, they have limited range 24 for the assualt cannons and 36 for heavey bolters, and remeber the speeders are only armour 10, bolter fire can bring them down. dont bother with terminators unless you get an a chaplain with 7 man terminator assualt sqaud with furious charge with llightning claws and a few thunder hammers and get them to assualt the death company from a crusader. they will be I 5 on the charge S 5 and will get to reroll to hit due to the chaplain and re roll to wound cos off the lighting claws and will wipe the death company out before they hget to hit back, take some heabvey armour like the twin linked lasconnon preditor for the baals and just loads of tac sqauds for the speeders.

I think that if a unit of 9 Grey Hunters with a wolf guard leader drop in and light up a squad of Blood Angels with 6 rapid firing bolters, three rapid firing plasma pistols (ap 2), and a melta gun or a rapid firing plasma gun, not to mention the deathwind launcher and storm bolter on the drop pod; that enough damage can be done to offset the higher Initiative and str. There probably won't be alot of blood angels in that squad left to assault. Also having tooled up wolf scouts coming in from the opponents table edge with plasma/melta weapons to hit enemy armor on the rear side is always good fun.

yeah and what if the drop pods does not arrive when you want or where you want, the space wolves squad you talk about with with the drop pods come to a total of around 250+pts, to many points for them not to turn up when you want. by the way you cant rapid fir the plasma pistols as deep strikingf counts as moving even if from the drop pods. better of sticking them in a rhino

Deep striking counts as moving? I thought the only restriction was no move and assault but you can fire from it.

that meens you can rapid fire plasma guns but not pistols, they would get one shot each not 2 each as pistols cant be rapid fired if moved.

I'd still take the two plasma pistols because of the high str and the ap2 punch. I've played with and without the plasma pistols and I think one can put more hurt on a unit with the pistols.

yeah man big death company like what 8-12? 15? 20?? If the deathcompany still falls under the same rules that they did in 3rd ed. you could stick a dreadnought in front of them yes?

Sure....because dreadnaughts always survive being hit by 16 powerfist attacks on the charge......
Personally I find shooty BAs can be really tough.
Large deathcompany Lots of las/plas tacticals speeders baals
Shooting the DC is going to be damn tough, best bet is to take out the armour asap and kill the DC in assualt.
Charging it on 2 flanks is ideal, stay out of btb with the chaplain OR assualt only the chaplain on 1 flank, this keeps either the chaplain or the DC members sitting on the sidelines watching instead of taking part.
Torrent of fire is also nice for sniping out Pfists, though you will need to block los aswell as the DC is likely to be quite large.
Use fearless units to hold the DC up untill you can charge them under your own terms.

use a dred if the death company doesnot have powerfist as not all blood angels pay for the vet upgrade on their marines. shoot the death company with everything, and remember assualt them with power weapons they get no armoour save or feel no pain save. also charge them before they charge you.

some people do not have vet serg to take off, not everybody is willing to pay 15pt extra, or assualt them with termies with lightning claws and furious charge, bye bye death company. there would have to be 8 termies jumping out of a crusader to get them into assualt first.

When the hell is a blood angels player going to not put vet serg in his squads, and when the hell is he going to let you get a LRC within 12" of a DC? Beef, we generally assume competance on the side of the opponent here. And please, learn to type in English, when the Finnish posters on this site are more intelligable than you, it pisses the hell out of me.

Well the best way to beat a big deathco is a marine command squad or just alot of pfists, remmeber they are only marines and will die to pfists and hvy weps just the same as normal tac marines will. Also if hes running 6 speeders hes running them in squads, all you gotta do is stun one and if he wants to move the other he has to ditch one (which counts as you blowing it up) or risk being a sitting duck with both next turn. Imo they arnt hard to beat you just have to know how to use terran and bait them, death co have to charge the closest model so why not make it somehting that they cant hurt like a dred or lord (or at the veryleast make it so that only the pfists can hurt it) and tie it up long enough to get some of ur combat squads in and its toast. Oh and if hes stocking up on p fists and weps in the death co,that means the rest of his army is lacking them, so take advantage of it and own him in combat.

It only has to charge the closest unit IF there is no chaplain leading them, and normally people will gladly pay the 210pts? for a 3 wound chaplain with grail, gives you control of the unit, lithanies of hate, chappy can soak up 2 wounds, oh and the extra d3+3? DC members....or did those already come with the DC? can't remember.
Either way, the average company I see is 8-12 members with 2-3 fists, chappy with grail.
Remember the Pfists come free with any vet that is moved into the deathcompany.
Most will be running las/plas tac squads with a naked vet just to pump the DCs size and add fists.
Its not like they are really lacking anything, las/plas squads dont normally have Pfists so its not like they are now gone somehow. Blood angles always have furios charge so its not like the normal marines are hopeless either.

Yea what beef said is true and it works everytime...if you make him react to your moves and you can control the flow of the game...they only reason you would lose it is if the dice go against you (every vet has that game where they lose to a nub cause NO dice rolls went in your fav..it happenes and theres nothing you can do about it)

exactly DC are not invincible, power weapons and double strenght ap3 ap2 weqapons kill them easy enough. the hardest assualt unit i have fought is seer council of 20+ they held up my 10 man death company with 1 powerfist and 1 powerweapon and chaplain and 10 man assualt squad with vet serg with powerfist and librarian untill his 2 wraithlords joined in an ate the 2 units. its all about holding things up until you can get something in there to take care of the DC. i wont understimate the seer council again, it was the first time i played with somebody using them in that number. I had been hearing of it for some time.
