Hi,

I don't really have a clue what i should do with my 40K.
I already have it for a long time, and recently started AOS, now its sitting here
and i also think its waste not to do anything with it.

!These are all Catachan Jungle Fighters!

Currently i have the following mini's:

1 Command HQ:

- Sergeant
- Standard bearer
- Vet.
- Vet. With Plasma
- Vet. With Plasma

- Chimera Transport

Troops:

10 Vets.
- 3 Flamers

10 Vets.

10 Vets.

3 Gun Teams:

- Heavy Bolter
- Heavy Bolter
- Lascannon

Fast Attack:

- 1 Sentinel

This army was intended to be kinda fluffy, currently i have about a 100 Euro budget that
ill be willing to add to this army, ill take any tips on configuration or adding models to my current
collection.

My goal is to make it 750 Points at first, or a 1000 if its easier.

Thanks in advance!

First thing might be to get those vets more special weapons and into transports.

Second thing would be to get a Wyvern or two in jungle camoflague.

Keep in mind you can buy plasma and melta guns separate instead of dumping your money in command squad packs for the lone special weapon of each type they give you.

Some people find the idea that other people can be happy offensive, and will prefer causing harm to self improvement.

Is it still possible to use the Catachan Ambush Patrol formation?

Don't think so, but the new guard formations aren't cadian exclusive. Only the detachment and the relics are if iirc.

Emperoes shield formation could be nice to get move through cover as a fluffy bit of catachans.

Wyvern is a good shout, fits well with the theme as well. Catachans are most likely to use close range fire support and the wyvern would do a good nib of shredding through jungle canopies.

More boots on the ground can never hurt too much either. You ideally want to stay away from the more heavy duty tanks, but hellhounds are a favourite of the catachans (say hello to Mr yellow). Getting a second box of heavy weapons so you can have a full lascannon and a full heavy bolter would be useful when doing it platoon style.

I would recommend doing one platoon as an addition to your CAD, running it as the formation if desired . Then your vets become your special weapon delivery system, (shotguns on a few of them for close encounters).

Possibly get the defence force if it's within your budget and then swap the leman russ out for something more catachan, like a wyvern

Veterans need Chimeras and special weapons. 10 Veterans with 3 Meltaguns (or 2 Melta/1 Heavy Flamer) in a Chimera is a popular loadout. If you insist on keeping them on foot then they need the Forward Sentries doctrine and max Special/Heavy weapons. 3 Grenade Launchers and an Autocannon with Forward Sentries is an okay foot build, but generally Veterans on foot are bad. Avoid Heavy Bolters when it comes to heavy weapon teams.

Your Heavy Weapons Squad is illegal, you have to take them in an Infantry Platoon requiring one Platoon Command Squad and two Infantry Squads. Veterans are not a part of platoons.

I'd consider upgrading the Sentinel to an Autocannon or a Lascannon if you have the points. 48" range lets it stay safe. Or you can run it with the extra-fluffy heavy flamer and outflank it for some disruption.

As mentioned above, Wyverns are really good. Every Astra Militarum army could use one or two.

As you expand into higher point games you'll need some anti-air. A Vendetta or a Hydra would be your best choice if not using allies. You won't need this til 1,500 points though.
