Hi dakka, looking for any pointers about 40k tournaments in Australia. Can't seem to find any competitive events despite an evening (well, at least a good half hour) of searching in between painting sessions. Any advice appreciated - willing to travel, which I take as a given as I'm currently in Townsville, QLD

I know a few gamers in townsville - they're part of ADFWG (but I think they mostly play at Lavarack barracks - WW40k.org ?).
Nationally, there's Cancon (January Australia Day "weekend" (the closest weekend to it, not always a long weekend, but usually 3 days) held at Exhibition Park in the national capitol and Wintercon (July/August - same venue as Cancon).
I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
