I'm putting together my Soul Grinder and can't decide between the Warpmetal Blade and Daemonbone Talon. I like the consistent 3 damage and -2 rend of the Blade, but the Talon gets 2 more attacks, and hits on 3, rather than 4. The biggest downside for me, with the Talon, is the unpredictable D3 damage. Opinions?

Being a mathhammer kind of guy, I would say go for the Talon. With twice the attacks and better To Hit it more than compensates for 1 less damage and 1 less Rend.

Talon - more attacks are handy in some cases.

Well, I certainly thought people would recommend the blade, lol. I think for now, I'll play some games using both, and see which works better, overall, for me. Mostly I play against my kid, who has a Death army, to which he will be adding Neferata. The -2 rend and consistent 3 damage would probably be more advantageous against her. Maybe it's time to learn a new modelling skill and magnetize?

The talon is the only attak my Grinder reliably hits with, and it's no coincidence that it's also his only attak that hits on a 3+

MATHHAMMER TIME!*
*using 2 for the average damage on the talon

Blade vs 6+ Save = 2
Talon vs 6+ Save = 3.56

Blade vs 5+ Save = 2
Talon vs 5+ Save = 3

Blade vs 4+ Save = 1.67
Talon vs 4+ Save = 2.37

Blade vs 3+ Save = 1.33
Talon vs 3+ Save = 1.78
