Just got my new skitarii army table top ready (although damn do they take a long time to paint), played myself against my own reasonably competitive and proven Grey knights list earlier to get used to rules etc and it tabled them 3rd turn.

Arc rifles and neutron lasers shot a land raider redeemer and razorback off the table first turn which helped because the units were exposed to mass fire turn 2 from the troops. Transuranic arquebas's also shot down a dreadknight by 2nd turn which was a game changer in itself. I'm curious if it's pure luck, the weakness of an elite GK army or a very strong list ... opinions?

Troops:

10 Vanguard
3 Plasma Calivers
Omniscope

Alpha (warlord) - refactor field, phosphor blast pistol

10 Vanguard
3 Arc Rifles
Omniscope
Arc Pistol

10 Vanguard (Basic)

10 Rangers
3 Transuranic arquebas's
Omniscope

5 Rangers
Transuranic arquebas

Elites:

5 Ruststalkers
Dataspike

5 Infiltrators (basic)

Heavy Support:

Ironstrider Ballistari (basic)

Onager Dunecrawler
Cognis Heavy Stubber
Icarus Array

Onager Dunecrawler
Cognis Heavy Stubber
Neutron Laser

Onager Dunecrawler
Cognis Heavy Stubber
Neutron Laser

Comes out at 1505 and i'll drop the phosphor pistol on the warlord for strict points but it seems like it has an insane amount of firepower at close range and it's there's just too much stuff for the opponents fire to do serious damage.

All opinions welcome

Grey Knights - 3500pts
SKitarii - 4000pts
Ad mech - 2000pts
Imperial Knights - 1000pts
Black Templars - 3200pts
Genestealer cults - 1750

Not overpowered at all. The multi-wraithknight and multi-stormsurge players at my store would make short work of it. Grey knights should be able to handle it as well, just shunt or deep strike into shooting range and let the dreadknights and interceptors torch those infantry with incinerators. GK can clean up the rest in melee if they don't let you shoot them to pieces. The dunecrawlers would be a lot of trouble to deal with but they can't win the game by themselves.

My opinion is that if you take rangers, ruststalkers or plasma-heavy vanguard squads then you're just handicapping yourself. I can see how a single ranger squad with an arquebus might get something done, but it's all points better spent on dragoons, dunecrawlers and vanguard.

I think this kind of list would be most effective against someone who fields a lot of tanks. Good against gladius and Imperial knights, not so good against necrons or tau.
