Hey all, this is a bit of a departure for me, but with the coming cheap piles of harlequins that are going to appear on eBay, I would try something that wasn't Imperial aligned or cheesy Daemons (all flying Khorne monsters, go!)

Formation: Cegorach's Revenge:

Solitaire: Cegorach's Rose, Haywire Grenades

Void Weavers: 3 Void Reaver's with Prismatic Cannons

Death jester: Haywire Grenade

Shadowseer: Level 2, Crescendo

Skyweavers: 3 Skyweavers with Zephyr Glaives

Any C&C, sprue details that will tell me why my idea is crazy, or tips and tricks to Barlequins would be appreciated. I know it's not an army that should be played by itself, but I enjoy the challenge and departure from my Ultramarines.

Have you seen some of the new Harlequin stuff? You need one of those Death Jesters to be the new one with Shrouded. I'd also swap one of the Bike units for the new one that gets to re-roll Jink save. It's sadly only has 2 bikes, but it's still good

One of the Shadowseers could use the Mask with the -LD rule.
You only have to field 1 Void weaver, so make the other 2 models StarWeavers dedicated to 2 of the Troupes.

Honestly, you should split one of the units into 2x 6 so they can fit into those Starweavers. And since that makes 4 Troupes, you can use one of them as a Cast of Players Formation.

How many points over a standard jester is the new one?

Is it possible to magnetize the weapons so I could use the vehicles as both?

And yeah, I saw the Shadowseers mask, but my only worry is that giving a -2 leadership like that is going to increase my chances of being caught standing around in my opponents turn, rather than hiding safely in combat.

I suppose if I have the shadowseer with the mask using one telepathy for Shriek and one for the Phantasmancy primaris, it would work pretty well...

Edit: wouldn't splitting them into two troupes of 6 riding in star weavers mean the unit of 12 is going to have a giant shoot me sign on it, with all the characters hanging about?

You can squadron them, but they are an awful choice, so why would you? The only reason they show up in lists is because 1 Heavy is required in 90% of every Harlequin detachment and the VW is the only Heavy.

The new DJ is only 5pts more for Shrouded and comes with HW grenades. So you would literally just be adding 5pts to one of your DJs
The way the weapons fit onto the Weaver chassis, you may not even need to magnetize. Just don't glue the gun barrels on and slip them out when you need them.

Mask is pretty much mandatory on a shadowseer. Aside from giving him a 12" aura of -2 to enemy leadership, it also grants fearless, which is great for harlequins, especially in a unfavorable combat.

I second swapping a jester for the spectre and skyweavers for the 2 man reroll jink weavers.
Drop to one void weaver, maybe upgrade it for 10 points more than one with a prism cannon for BS5. 6 man troupes with more focused special weapons would do you well in starweavers. Quins are too squishy to be entirely on foot, especially if you don't go first or get seized upon.
