Nightmare come true. I'm trying to add 6 more sections of tank traps into list for area denial, but where could I get points? I already have over 10k of Imperial forces that have never played against Nids, so that made me calculate this list. I've started painting termagaunts and rippers and the colour scheme is pretty nice. List includes fluffy Skitarii, covering in a bastion and waiting for extraction. In deployment this force would split into 3 section of field, middle and both flanks. Endless Swarms would have cover from Aegis (micro arts studio has some nice Hive terrain). Warlord and Living Fortress would cover with Skyshield near objective. As for the assets in Apocalypse game, choises would be Replacements, Spore Chimneys and Trophy Kill. Harridan is the most useful from Gargantuan creatures and covers air support.

Haha no. But these are just calculations how efficient Tyranids can be in Apocalypse. How would you counter this force if the game would be on 10x4 board with standard apocalypse mission rules?

I would counter it the way you always counter needs. Lots and lots of blasts and templates. Anything in apoc level is gong to be able to drop lots of pie plates and probably plenty of the apoc versions of them. Watch those hordes disappear in droves. It's warriors from the formations that will hurt the most and I would target first. Every lost warrior weakens your synapse web drastically as the Hive Tyrants become tethered to keeping the swarm from falling apart.

Well, first, thank you for answer. I'm not concerned about swarms getting demolished as they keep coming back on a 4+ (with a re-roll). I also think that Warriors are "the core" of the swarm, and I would have them behind Tank Traps at deployment. With strategic asset Replacement I could even bring back that Carnifex Crusher Brood. And Tervigons would spawn more gaunts where needed. Super-heavy vehicles are concerning me as Tyranids have very little anti-armour (other than footslogging 6").

It's those super heavies that I feel will be the ones demolishing your synapse web. The hordes coming back is great, but only if your synapse web stretches from your front line to your table edge so that you don't loose control of them as they reenter the field. If those warriors start dropping holes will start getting poked in the web and things will start going out of control fast.

Those Warriors would spread so that groups of 5 are at frontline and those with deathspitters would be backup with spawning gaunts. Also there would be Tervigons, Tyrant Node and Living Fortress at deployment zone, and Raveners would get synapse from Trygon Prime.

80% of your list will just be removed each turn, regardless off the respawns. You don't have nearly enough Titan Killers or anything to deal with the MASSES of tanks you'll inevitably face.

Well, Harridan can deal with that. Tanks are bit of a problem, list is still leaning to target overload tactic.

A single Harridan can only kill 1 tank per turn. Not very helpful when you have 30+ to deal with.

Overload tactic somewhat "works" for 'Nid players in normal matches. Unless you're overloading them with Harridans, Hierodules, Hierophants, and mulitple Carnifex Bio Broods your opponent will just ignore your harmless swarms until your single Harridan is dead.... and then murderface the rest of your little dudes.

Actually 6 per turn if they are in squadrons, targetting another squadron with each bio-cannon and rolling solid penetrating hits. In five turns 30 tanks are cookiecrumble.

With BS 3? Good luck with that.

Also you wont get any 'Explode' results with that S10 AP3 cannon. You're not at all realistic thinking a single Harridan can kill 30 tanks in 5 turns or 6 tanks in 1 turn.... how?

60 shots over 5 turns without explodes means you'll be peeling HPs off tanks rather than exploding them you'll kill 30 tanks and that's assuming the following.

1) 100% of your shots hit over 5 turns. 60 shots at BS 3 means you'll statistically hit 50%... so you're going for a once in a lifetime miracle.

2) You're shooting rear armor 100% of the time to ensure all of your hits at least glance. Which... if your opponent lets a Harridan behind ALL of their tanks... then well, once again you're playing a once in a lifetime apoc match.

3) Shooting a super heavy with higher than AV10? Odds go down even more where you'll have to roll to glance/pen.

4) You opponent leaves you alone for 5 turns. Which if playing an apoc match and that's your only super heavy, if it survives the first turn you're INCREDIBLY lucky.

You're putting all your sub par eggs in one sub par basket. Get more garg MCs or MC Apoc formations.

All sad but true, even our biotitan is equiped with the same guns as the hierodules and we have no access to str d anywhere. Fw or supplements. Nids just can't stand up in apoc.

If those tanks are opent topped then they can Explode. Harridan is int the list mainly for anti-air support, that is how it fills it's mission, and flyers can Crash and Burn. This list is not fully optimised, no-brainer unbound list with only Flyrants and bio-titans.
