I've got a tournament coming up in one week, and then a bigger one the following week, and I was thinking of bringing a Tau list. I would treat the first tourney as practice for the second, bigger tourney. Both tournaments will use ITC rules and missions. Here's the list I've come up with:
Detachment 1: Combined Arms Detachment (Tau Farsight Enclaves)
HQ:
Commander: 2x Missile Pod, Target Lock, Drone Controller, Iridium Suit, 1x Marker Drone
Elites:
XV104 Riptide: Heavy Burst Cannon, TL Smart Missile System, Early Warning Override, Stim Injector, Earth Caste Pilot Array, Bonding Knife Ritual
Troops:
XV8 Crisis Team: 3 suits, each with 2x Plasma Rifle and Early Warning Override, Bonding Knife Ritual
XV8 Crisis Team: 1 suit, 2x Fusion Blaster, Early Warning Override, Bonding Knife Ritual
XV8 Crisis Team: 1 suit, Flamer, Burst Cannon, Bonding Knife Ritual
Heavy Support:
TX78 Sky Ray Gunship: TL Smart Missile System, Disruption Pod, Sensor Spines, Blacksun Filter
Lord of War:
KV128 Stormsurge: Pulse Driver Cannon, TL Airbursting Frag Projector, Early Warning Override, Shield Generator, Advanced Targeting System
Detachment 2: Optimized Stealth Cadre
XV95 Ghostkeel: Cyclic Ion Raker, TL Fusion Blaster, Early Warning Override
XV25 Stealth Team: 3 suits, Shas'vre upgrade, Fusion on Shas'vre, Markerlight & Target Lock on Shas'vre
XV25 Stealth Team: 3 suits, Shas'vre upgrade, Fusion on Shas'vre, Markerlight & Target Lock on Shas'vre
Detachment 3: Drone-net VX1-0
4 Marker Drones

I feel like going Farsight with the CAD is a good move, as it means I don't have to take Fire Warriors as troops. I am stuck buying Bonding Knife on everything, which sucks but it's only a few points. I feel like the list has plenty of markerlights (21 in total) to help the Stormsurge and Riptide bring the pain. I'm not sure about the Ghostkeel's loadout; Stims are good but I'm not sure if that's the best option on a Ghostkeel suit since S10 still doubles it out. I wonder if I could take a few upgrades off here and there and squeeze in another single Crisis suit unit (perhaps with flamers or burst cannons). Not sure if that would be the best move though. One concern I also have is WYSIWYG; I don't actually have enough marker drones to run this many. The big tournament will most likely be enforcing WYSIWYG on everything, meaning I'd have to run one of the marker squads as gun drones. Will this kill the list? Advice greatly appreciated!

If you lose the Sensor Spines on the Ray, EWO on Crisis and Stims on Ghostkeel, that's enough for 2 more single flamer Crisis to drop a cheap Obsec unit on objectives. Stuff like that can make the difference in tournament missions whereas the toys usually don't.

Rule #1 is Look Cool.

Taking the above advice into account, I dropped the Neuroweb Jammer from the Commander and the Stims from the Ghostkeel to put a single Crisis suit with Flamer and Burst Cannon in there. I kinda like the EWO on the 3-man Crisis unit, as it lets them deal with MEQ/TEQ that drop in (several players in my local meta like to use Drop Pods/Skyhammer Annihilation Force). I wouldn't have had to drop the Neuroweb except for having to take Bonding Knife on the single suit (the only downside to taking a Farsight detachment). Still, 3 ObSec units is better than 2, and the single suits are kind of a waste for most units to shoot at (although they are easy Kill Points in Purge the Alien missions...).

Edit: OP edited to show changes.
