I'm taking the leap into AoS - long time 40k short time 30k player here.

I own very little Nurgle but know I want to make this kind of army. What kind of combinations and shortcomings should I be aware with such a list?

Pure nurgle tends to be tanky, but not as killy. Expect to grind down your opponents.

Now if your going the nurgle keyword you've got options from Skaven and Chaos, you've got the Rotbringers for Mortal Chaos, clan Pestilens from Skaven, and.. Nurgle Daemons of Nurgle.

Which sorts are you looking to make? Because you've got plenty of options.

I haven't considered the rats- clan pestilens. I have nurgle demon troops, drones snd nurglings and 5 blight kings so far. Are the other chaos options I can ally with them, maybe something shoots?

The Plagueclaw from Clan Pestilence is often mentioned if you're looking for some shooting in a Nurgle army. It works nicely with Epidemius' buff.
