Hello all! I was a long time WH 40k Chaos player (Marines and Daemons, the marines Im looking to sell/swap but daemons are staying) and I've recently picked up the Generals Handbook for AoS for the points values to let me feel comfortable playing AoS now I can be assured the stupid and frankly unfair army lists wont regularly be played against me.

My question is- I have plenty of Pink Horrors, Bloodletters, Daemon princes and some daemon heros (Skulltaker, Bloodthirster/ Blood crushers) but is it,

A) Legal for me to pick up a Slaves to Darkness/ Khorne Bloodbound set and run them in the same army with no penalties

B) Actually any good?

I would also like to hear some opinions on chaos in general in AoS and if they can be fun and both semi competitive, mixing Daemons and Warriors of Chaos.

Yes

Not.. So sure, but Horrors provide good ranged support with some caster ability, Skulltaker is an excellent hero breaker, The bloodthirster (Whatever variant) are pretty good, Daemon princes are no longer regulated to "Worthless compared to GD"

All those models are listed under the Chaos battlegroup, so yes you are fine.

If you match-play, you will need to field battleline units and hero restrictions - but outside of that, bring what you have.

Open play you can take what you want.

Pink Horrors are pretty good Battleline units - their shooting isn't anything special, but having a shooting attack is good nonetheless. And with Reality Blinks, they can be absurdly hard to chew through for most units. Princes, Bloodthirsters, and Crushers are all pretty good takes as well.

IDK about Bloodbound, but the Slaves to Darkness set is pretty good. Chaos Knights are solid additions, Chariots are pretty good, and the Sorcerer is nearly an auto-include for his spell alone (though you should convert him to be on a Steed, there's no reason not to take it). I wouldn't buy 2 StD boxes, since the Marauders are pretty meh and you only want one Sorcerer, but on the other hand, if you want another Chariot and unit of Knights, it's cheaper to just buy the SC box.

Ah I see, I'm looking to focus mainly on the point system play. I am definitely thinking about getting either Slaves to Darkness set or maybe the Khorne set for the chaos lord.

One question is chaos shooting- I'd like some decent shooting but would Pink Horrors and Flamers/ Heralds of Tzneentch provide a decent fire base without getting rolled over?

Pink Horrors are good, but not awesome. Solid enough. plus they chuck spells.

Flamers are awesome. Take 6 and put them into two groups. Don't take more if you want to stay friends with people
