I'm looking to start a lamenters space marine army. In my research of their background i've found that there are some mentions of the chapter in Imperial armor volume 12. However, I don't own that particular book.
Would it be possible for someone to give me a recount of what those passages say in reference to them? I assume it has to do with the minotaurs taking their ships and war gear, but i would really like the specifics. Any names, dates, whatever. Details are essential.

The passages are supposedly here:
Imperial Armour Volume Twelve - The Fall of Orpheus, pp. 57, 147

I don't want anything else but those details. I do not want a download of the book.

At most a detailed recount of it here, or a sharp picture of just that relevant information via PM would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for any help.

I have a Lamenters army too, so for me it would be an honour that you will join us, bro.

I have read the book 12, and the only mentions to the Lamenters that I have found is in the Minotaurs history. In the page 132 it reads:

"The astral claws and other seccesionist forces were ceratinly worthy foes by any estimation, and the minoataur´s victories during the conflict, most notably the defeat of the Lamenters at Optera, were extremely important to the Badab´s war outcome."

I did not found any other mention on the Orpheus sector history.

Lamenters are the unlucky bastards with the patchwork shoulders aren't they? I read something about them on tv tropes the other day.

Gah. Here it is, it linked to 1d4. From what I can tell it was in White Dwarf somewhere.

Sent this as a PM, but guess I will add it here;
Detailing an attack on a Necron Tomb Ship and attendant fleet.
P57. The Battle Barge Daughter of Tempests, once the pride of the Lamenters Chapters fleet, and taken as a prize during the Badab War, was blasted asunder and fell from the formation, its entire armoured foresection disintegrating in the Necron crossfire.
Character details for an HQ dreadnought.
P.147 What is known is that the dreadnought has served at the forefront of a dozen of the Chapters major campaigns over the last several centuries, having been identified by his distinctive heraldry at the Battle of Optera during the boarding assault on the Lamenters Chapter strike cruiser Mater Suspiria...

Thanks ingtaer. So esentially are references inside the Minotaurs background, no? It seems that there is no intervention of the Lamenters on this conflict. They are in a Penitent Crusade, after all.

Yeah mate that is right, book is Death Korps of Krieg Assault Brigade, Minotaurs Chapter vs Necron Dark Harvest. With some rules for Zone Mortalis.

Lamenters are only mentioned because the Minotaurs were part of the suppression of the revolt in the Badab War.

Thank you for your responses! The information on the battle barge and strike cruiser is exactly what i expected.

I also have another question. In the Badab War the Lamenters have a "Barque" as their headquarters. In looking this up, forgive my stupidity, as i had never heard of a barque before, i found its an unusual ship that escapes the traditional classifications of ships.

So, something large, not a battle barge, or maybe something larger, or something different?

In some of the wiki's it is listed as a star fort but i couldn't find any conclusive information on that. Is there any written information about what this ship might actually be?

According to IA 9, Badab book1; a Barque is a civilian mass conveyance that has been converted to act as a mobile Chapter Fortress Monastery (p.23) Their Barque was known as the Mater Lacrimarum.

Yeah, that's what i had found too. I wonder if people are confusing the star fort of the Fire Hawks, the Raptorus Rex, with the Lamenters?

Yeah I reckon they are, given as the rules for the Fire Hawks Ship/Fortress are shown at the end of book 2. I imagine the Lamenters ship to be more akin to the High Conveyor shown in the same section. A more militarised version of that seems to fit the bill more.
