Hey everyone! I have got all the models for my Lions Blade Strike force kitted out with 6 Razorbacks/Rhinos and 2 Drop pods. Was curious what I should get next. I like the looks of the Deathwing stuff, However from reading on here it seems the Ravenwing performs a little better. Think that I should start building up a Ravenwing force, or possibly focus on some ally detachment. Been having some thoughts on getting a Knight so that could be another way to go. What are your thoughts?

Well if you want to be super competative, RW are the way to go, but know this, you are not going to make friends with a raven wing list.

The best, cheapest list to run for a raven wing strike force would be black knights, 6 strong with a grande launcher, a dark shroud, and a ravenwing command squad fully kitted out.

For your HQ toss a librarian on a bike and call it good.

The dark shourd gives your black knights a 2+ Rerollable, and when they are with in half range, they can raplid fire their plasma talons. So 10 rerollable plasma guns, and the added benifit is with the dark shroud, they dont suffer over watch on the charge.

Deathwing unfortunately are not very good compared to the ravenwing. They are great if you need some instant reinforcements to aid your bike as all bikes have teleport homers you can drop them right net to them, and they get to open fire right away with twin linked.

The problem is, the best DW unit, The DW Knights, cant do squat on the turn they drop in, if they could end up charging on the turn they deep strike, DW Would be a whole lot better.

To many unpainted models to count.

That would make DW much better.

I like the sound of the 2+ for the ravenwing. Also already have a converted librarian on a bike ;p

I guess what i was wondering is what would work best with the lions blade I already have which comes to like 1250 to about 1800 points if I wanted to beef the squads up alot. Seems like RW can be a good addition to just about anything. I just worry that when i get up to the 1750 range I will be going against a lot larger threats in the form of titans and bigger MC. I have 3 tau players that really like to bring all the cheese haha.

The guy who won ITC this year did it with a double Lion's Blade + Ravenwing Strike Force. The Strike Force was a Techmarine on a bike, a Dark Shroud, and 2 squads of Ravenwing Knights.

I think thats what i will be leaning towards doing. RW just seems like a good fit. Will need to test out the Librarian vs the Tech Marine though.

Depends on my points level 1250 is what i have been building twoards and that uses a 5 man scout squad.

Fair enough, RW would be a good fit, especially since you can use outflank with them and keep them in reserves as well.

I believe the ITC winner used a single squad of Scouts. Unlike the Gladius, a single squad of Scouts satisfies the Aux requirement in a Lion's Blade.

Try combined efforts with Ravenwing and deathwing, Lots of speeders and bikes for fire support + deathwing in large groups for assaults. Also hammer of the caliban can add some punch.
