So I'll be gone on my first international vacation ever, going to South Africa! I'll be off Dakka for the next 9 days, and wanted to say goodbye to all my brothers and sisters on here. The other point of this was asking if anyone else had awesome vacation plans through the end of the summer. I recognize this could get locked, and will likely die out before I land home, but I'm hoping it survives with the vacation plans of others!! Hobby on, guys!!

Have fun I go to Japan every year since 2013(2 months, 1 month in 2014, 2 weeks last year and week this may...Not intentional it halves every time!). No summer holiday this year though as basically last and this year holidays I'm saving for next spring(if company can give me 2 months off one piece!) for my next big holiday plan to walk the Shikoku pilgrimage in Japan(1400km walk around 51 days+few days spare in case plans go awry).

Generally I don't spend holidays in summer as I spend my holidays in Japan and Japan summers are too hot for my taste. Last year was exception to climb the Mount Fuji.

I can hear the MODs now: “This seems more appropriate to a personal blog, but have a nice trip”

My vacations for the summer are over. A week in Louisville visiting my family, and then a week on the Connecticut shore at the beach. Nothing too fancy. Ramping up now to get The Boy ready for school.

I don't have a personal blog, but I was afraid of the same possible outcome. I hope they leave it open as a standard vacation thread for everyone to share experiences in!

I know there have been a few others recently, about visiting specific places. One nice thing about Dakka, it that is is so wide spread. Going somewhere? Odds are there is a fellow Dakka member who lives/has lived there to give some tips about what to do. Great resource here.

It's been a number of years since the wife and I have done a proper vacation. I think we're going to do a trip to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg next spring. Or a cruise. We really enjoyed our last cruise, another would be nice.

I went home for the first time in about 3 years as its a 9 hour drive. We only had a few days up there though unfortunately but I plan on going properly next summer.

Well, this summer, I finally got to go back home. I had not been back to Crimea since 2014. So happy to see all my friends and favourite places again. Really the best vacation ever.
Unfortenately, today was the last day. We are flying back tomorrow morning

Really wish I could stay here longer than a few months a year, but alas, school and money do not permit.

Me and my parents may go to Colorado for a week next month. We'll need to get on it soon, as the weather turns ugly earlier up in those mountains...
