I noticed that, even though my forum title thing is set to Dark Angels, in threads is displaying that in a "Regular Dakkanaut" as opposed to "Perfect Shot Dark Angels Predator Pilot", which is displayed on my info page.

It is a problem, AFAIK, everyone is having. DCM's can still use custom ranks at the moment, however.

The system seems to work fine when you actually go on your own profile or someone else's - just seems to be set to default on threads only.
I guess it could be worse, but I hope the patch is up soon - I want to be a Wing Commander all over again! (no pressure legoburner  )
