Hey fellow Dakka...people.

Ever since I got the SM Codex I've been really interested in building a librarius Conclave. It also just happens that I'm reading A Thousand Sons novel, and now really want to build an army using the Conclave.

Problem is, I am newb as @#$% when it comes to playing the actual game, and building lists.

So what I ask is, what units would go well with either a termie conclave or a power armour conclave? What general units complimeant librarians well?

Any and all help would be much appreciated, thank you.

The "librarious" is a great new tool for CSM and with the spell familiar can be more effective than some other conclaves, CSM in particular have some interesting combinations. Let me start by saying unfortunatly 1k sons are in a terrible state right now are are downright unplayable when it comes to 1k sons special units.

That being said the cabal is a great when used correctly, and there are multiple ways to use them to their full potential. I find there are quite a few people running the cabal in several or a single unit of bikes for the added toughness and mobility, give each unit (bar the sorcerer) the mark of nurgle and you have several crazy toughness 6 biker units with sorcerers in them! Roll your sorcerers on either telepathy for shrouded and invis (have fun killing this unit now with a 2+ jink save, toughness 6 and 6's to hit!) Or biomancy for endurance (4+ feel no pain? Yes please!). This is obviously one of the least fluffy options considering you want to have a more 1000 sons themed army but just letting you know one of the more competative options for future referance. So to summise - 3-5 sorcerers rolling on telepathy/biomancy, 1-5 units of 3 or more bikers of nurgle including other CAD requirements of your choice. You can run all your sorcerers in one bike unit, limiting your witchfires but makes them easier to buff with invis and endurance. Or you can run in multiple units rather than a big deathstar, whatever you prefer really.

If you want something more... tzeenchy? Then I reccomend a tzeenchian renegade/chaos knight. These things love sorcerers and although can't join one anothers unit the sorcerers buffs can provide a great boon towards their power on the tabletop. These things are pricey, and again you do need to find a way to protect your sorcerers so bikes are again a good option if you want something more sturdy than standard troops.

If you want to be adventurous and look outside CSM allying your sorcerers with tzeenchian daemons can herald incredably rewarding results. Especially when you throw a lord of change or kairos fateweaver into the mix. You should have a look in the daemons codex at some tzeenchian stuff, you might find something you like.

Thousand Sons can be played, but they are extremely difficult, and even the most seasoned vets will struggle in today's meta. I've seen a moderately successful Thousand Sons army, running Ahriman, 2 rubric squads, a few tanks, a Defiler, Heldrake and allied Lord of Change and Horrors. If you go down the Tzeenthcian daemon route, they can get pretty strong. Going along a pure rubric marines route is way more difficult.
