Hello guys.

I am not really a fan of AoS but I noticed I had a ton of ghouls and stuff and found out they have a army...... go figure.

So for a 2000 point game will I need much more then this?

Ghouls 60
Big ghoul things 9
Winged ghoul guys 9
a varghulf
a bat dragon thing
a zombie dragon
3 strogi vampire
2 neachro vamps.

Will I need much more and is it worth it to get the book?

I need to go to work every day.
Millions of people on welfare depend on me.

600 points worth of ghouls
420 points of Crypt Horror (big ghouls)
480 points of Crypt Flayers (Winged Ghouls)
Varghulf is 160
320 for Terrorgheist
320 for Zomb Dragon
300 Points of Strigoi Vamps.

Not sure what Neachro Vamps are..

But if you go pure Flesh Eater court your Crypt Flayers and Horrors count as battleline alongside Ghouls, at 2000 you need Three Battleline Units..

Yeah that's enough for a legal army, the book is best for the formations as many of them are quite useful for Flesh Eaters, later tomes add more things but the flesh eater tome contains good fluff and overall good formation rules.

Try using Scrolbuilder's website.

After that you can grab the General's Handbook to learn the simple rules and army building for Matched play (i.e. points).

Also shows the battles and missions we play.

Unless there's an errata or something, Crypt Flayers and Crypt Horrors only count as Battleline if you have a Crypt Infernal Courtier or Crypt Haunter Courtier, respectively, as your Warlord. Otherwise only Ghouls are Battleline. However, 60 ghouls still is 3x units of 20 for Battleline.

OP only thing you might add are Crypt Ghast Courtiers (Ghoul character), but if I recall how the necrarchs look they might be able to fill that role as proxy (they look fairly Nosferatu-like IIRC, could pass for a more refined ghoul).

Ah whoops, I just skimmed over that part to the right.

It's okay I wish it wasn't the case too, IMHO it makes no sense from a fluff standpoint.
