Hi i previously posted a Topic with a Deathgaurd-Mechanicum list but i decided to drop the Mechanicum Part to make a realy Fluffy Death Guard list first.

Here is my try on a fluffy list:

Spoiler:

1995 pts

HQ 165pts
Marshal Durak Rask, RoW: The Reaping (i think he is realy awesome Pointswise)

Troops 770pts
Legion Heavy Support Squad: 5x Space Marines Volkite Culverines + 1 Space Marine Sergeant with Volkite Culverine and Augury Scanner (adding Durak Rask here for Mortarions favourite Number 7, I know that DG didnt like Volkite weapons due to high maintance but i love Deflagerate)

Two Legion Tactical Squads: 19 Legion Tacticals + 1 Tactical Sergeant with Extra Combat Blade and Nuncio Vox (adding Apothecary for a multitude of Mortarions Number 7 XD)

Elites 340pts
Apothecarion Detachment: 2x Legion Apothecary with Augury Scanner and Rad Grenades

Deathshroud Terminator Squad: 5x Deathshroud Terminators with Rad Grenade (hard to make them 7 XD)

Heavy Support 720pts
Deredeo Pattern Dreadnought with Aiolos Missile Launcer, Twin-Linked Hellfire Plasma Cannonade and Armoured Ceramite (Since Moratrion loved Dreadnoughts)

Legion Artillery Tank Squadron: 1 Legion Medusa

Legion Vindicator Siege Tank Squadron: 1 Vindicator with Armoured Ceramite and 1 Vindicator with Armoured Cermaite and Laser Destroyer Array

The Reaping gives all Units move Through Cover so i can save Points on Dozer Blades is that correct? And would that be a fluffy list that can have good matches or is it fluffy but would i only be loosing? (fluff is nice but if you are only loosing it gets less interesting)

Sry for posting a new Topic after writing in my Old but i thought that these are two completly different lists so it would be confusing putting this in the old Topic

'kay, I'll look at it from 2 fronts:

1) Fluff: Pretty on the nose. The apothecaries run with the tacticals I assume (SUPER fluffy and pretty damn strong). Don't overly worry about having everything in multiples of 7, though the most fluffed out "unit" of DG is a 20-man tactical squad w/ apothecary-sergeant, extra CCWs, and vox/vexillia. As you pointed out: DG don't like hard to maintain weaponry like volkite or plasma.

2) Crunch: If you're running the deredeo w/ plasma, swap the missiles for the invuln buff and run him next to your Deathshroud. Don't bother with Armoured ceramite on the laser vindicator (AC should only be used for things that you KNOW will generally be in melta range as it's way to expensive to put on everything.) You will want to run the laser vindicator and the regular vindicator as 2 separate squadrons as one is super AT and the other isn't. Maybe running that regular vindicator as a Medusa for the time being? Another great upgrade is giving vindicators machine spirit so they can move a full 12" and still fire the main gun. It's also a great Idea to give your sergeants/ apothecaries artificer armour to buff up the durability of your blob squads. rask is cheap, but running him with volkite is wasting his buffs. we're that a HS squad or a squad with more high strength shots, it would make sense, but at the moment you're giving Culverines tank hunter, which won't do all that much.

Maybe something like this?

HQ
Generic praetor (kitted out for CC he'll be more expensive, but hit MUCH harder)
Deathshroud Termiantor Squad (they are a plain HQ choice as well, remember)

TROOPS
2 20-man tactical squads w/ extra CCW, vox, vexillia & Sergeant w/ artificer
6-man Support squad (Volkite, unless you've got something you like better?)

ELITES
2 Apothecaries w/ Artificer, Augury Scanner, and rad.

HEAVY SUPPORT
Deredeo w/ plasma and pavias (or however you spell it )
2 Legion Medusas
1 laser Destroyer Vindicator w/ machine spirit

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

Thanks for your answer i hoped you would see this thread since i saw alot of your posts and it seemed you are realy knowledgable about DG Fluff =)

I like the Idea with the normal praetor and the Medusa instead of the second vindicator.

What do you think about this list:

Spoiler:

HQ
Legion Praetor with Terminator Armor and Power Sycythe and Rad Grenades, 3 Deahtshroud Terminator Bodyguards (Like this i can take the Reaping and use a DT as Preator saving some money =P XD)
Legion Centurion: Siege Breaker (for the Phospex Shells)

Troops

as before 2x20 Tacs with xtra Weapon and 1x6 HS

Elite
2x Apothecarian with Aug Scanner, Rad, Grenades and Artifcer

Heavy Support
Deredeo Dreadnought with Armoured Ceramite and Twinlinked Plasma Canonade
2x Legion Medusa with Phosphex Shells (thanks to Centurion)
Legion Vindicator with Laser Destroyer Array and Power of the Machine Spirit (nice idea with the Machine Spirit^^)

That would be 1990pts of DG

the pavaise only has a range of 3 inche (and says model not unit) is that realy good?

one thing I've always loved to run my praetor as is:

Artificer armour, Iron Halo, digital lasers, power fist and paragon blade (both are specialist weapons, so you get the +1 for 2 CCWs) though that's more a limit of models.

the list looks okay, though I'm more used to 2,500 point games when it comes to 30k XD

As for the pavaise: I think it's one of the more 'fun' options you can take rather than effective. Running him near your deathshroud for a better invuln is nice with their 2 wounds

Okey i've bought myself 2 Betrayal at Calth Boxes and I'm in the Process of Painting it =)

I still got some Questions =)

I would like to convert one of my Marines into Crysos Morturg to maybe use him as an HQ for a Loyalist Version List.
Can i still use a Praetor to get a RoW like The Reaping? and what i dont get somehow is his Psyker Ability of Endurance, does he aply it only to him self automaticaly or can he cast it around? (read some strange stuff on some forums)
And sorry im sure its a stupid and very basic Qestion but do the Dreadnoughts count as vehicles? (for the purpose of Infiltrating)

And what would be a good Loadout on Veterans? 10 Veterans with 1 Melta and 1 Heavy Flamer?

1) you could make Morturg, though IIRC you can't have a ROW when he's you're warlord (though I could be wrong)
2) He just always knows endurance for the sake of the psychic phase. i.e. he can cast it durring the psychic phase.
3) Yes, dreadnoughts count as vehicles.
4) Avoid Vet. tactical squads 'till you get a good core of regular tactical marines. Vet. tactical squads will make fine 'response/single goal' units, but flounder when you try to make them your core infantry. I run mine with dual heavy bolters.

Ah sry didnt mention i got two 20 man blobs of tacticals already =)

the master of the legion rule in battlescribe only says "If he is the warlord you can roll twice..." so i would think he doesnt have to be
