Hey guys, been playing around with two Imperial lists. The first one has done well for me, the second I haven't tried yet but looks like fun. I have been on a Crack Shot kick right now and have been toying around with spamming it... as expensive as it's been getting four of them for the last tournament I was preparing for.

Soontir Fel
-Autothrusters
-Stealth Device
-Royal Guard TIE
-Push the Limit

Howlrunner
-Crack Shot

3x Black Squadron Pilot
-Crack Shot

99 Points

Howlrunner
-Crack Shot

Mauler Mithel
-Crack Shot

Scourge
-Crack Shot

3x Black Squadron Pilot
-Crack Shot

100 Points.

You'll get more mileage out of list 2 I thing. However having mauler mithel might be a problem. You want him in range 1, but want him behind the lower pilot skill goons.

Try something like this, experiment with how you like it:

3x black squadron pilots with crackshot (or one goes to wampa)
Youngster with marksmanship (I usually choose expose though)
Scourge with crackshot
Howlrunner with crackshot

My normal list is:
4x black crack pilots
Youngster with expose
Howlrunner with predator

Your first list works fine. You've essentially got a hammer & anvil approach, plus a 1-point initiative bid for soontir.

List two - I like it, but it depends on your taste. What to do with the extra points (here taking two black squadrons to their named counterparts) is the big conundrum. I've also seen a recommendation for using the points to upgrade to omega squadron TIE/fos, or to swap those two for three academy pilots - giving you a 7-ship force and the ability to block (rather than be blocked by) PS3 uboats.

Well, in the second list I actually plan on running Mauler Michel and Scourge outside of the formation. I have been using my first list quite a bit in the last six months, so people have started developing lists to face my still undefeated mini swarm and Fel. But, I don't really want to mix First Order and Empire pilots together, it just rubs me the wrong way. And both Mauler and Scourge are able to operate by themselves without any real big penalty, minus the die retold from Howlrunner.

But, I feel that it will allow me to present my opponent with multiple threats, and any time they spend hunting Mauler or Scourge, they aren't paying attention to Howlrunner and the swarm.

Agreed. I'm not a fan either. But the option is there.

Hmmm...... They can operate on their own, but 'd rather keep them in the 'block', to be honest - unless you're facing an opponent you need a 'dragnet' to run to ground (dash rendar springs to mind), then you might as well make sure you engage en masse. Splitting up with TIE fighters is generally not worth it if you don't have to.

If you do want a flanking threat, I'd suggest backstabber instead - if he's running outside the 'block', his is the easiest 'extra attack die' pilot ability to trigger, and he saves a couple of points over Mithel or Scourge.
