Pays 150% in store credit! - Meaning; 20 players = $200 entry fee = $300 in prizes!

1500 point single CAD highlander type
$10 entry fee
Registration starts at 10:30am
Dice at 11:00am

No super heavies
No forgeworld
No formations
No Fortifications besides Aegis Defense Line
No Flyers

Single CAD
- cannot have duplicates of a unit unless you take another in the same slot
-You cant take more than 4 same troop type unless you play an army with one troop choice. They can take up to 6.

Examples
Orks: 2 units of killa kans with another heavy support choice
Eldar: 2 units of wraithguard with a unit of scorpions
Tyranids: 2 harpys with a unit of raveners

List scoring and missions will be posted in a week.

I'm from Oklahoma, I participate in almost all the stuff in the midwest that I can, I was looking for some ITC Events but it looks like after the NOVA there isn't much in VA.

Actually I'm working with Frontline Gaming now to make this an ITC Event so definitely show. There's also a tournament at Huzzah Hobbies this upcoming Saturday that's an ITC event too. Will likely be making the trek up there

Also please excuse the ignorance, but what does "Highlander" entail?

So, a couple of questions:

#1 Where do you park? Never been to your store before so I'm not familiar with the area.

#2 No formations? Love it but...I play necrons so am I still allowed to play Decurion since it's composed of formations? Or are you just trying to stop everyone from bringing a riptide wing? I'm also trying to think if Decurion would break any of your other rules...

The "Highlander" name plays off the oldschool TV show with the famous phrase "there can be only one":

I've actually never seen it but it's become a somewhat popular format for playing 40k, where "there can be only one" of anything but troops.

However, he seems to be modifying it to allow 2 of things for this event instead of 1: AKA 2 harpys, as listed in his examples:

Sheit27; yeup! Every wednesday is 40k night at the store and usually every table is taken by 40k players. Best way to setup a game is either on the Battlegrounds Facebook page or River City 40k Facebook group page. Some people can't play on Wednesdays so ask around

Byte: Thanks! Haha of course not everyone does, but good thin you can view the tournament info even without being on facebook. Not sure why it's called Highlander, it's what Adepticon calls the tournament style

necron99: (1) there are plenty of parking spots outside the store. There is also a Billards right next door for beers and good food. (2) yeup no formations what-so-ever! No sir, no decurions allowed. Only DETACHMENT allowed is the one in the Rulebook: Combined Arms Detachment

RiTides: This tournament is more a "Highlander Style" so it allows you take 2 units of something only if you take another unit in the same slot. Details below

*Exceptions*
- No duplicate HQs
- To take a duplicate unit (for example a second Predator Heavy Support) you must take a different Heavy Support choice, such as a land raider or whirlwind.
- If the entry says "1-3" or "you may add an additional" and it's still a squadron or an entry like Ministroum Priests that can seperate, but still count as one slot then that's fine.

Troops
- Troops work differently then the other slots. You may take two of the same troops choice. Example; two units of eldar jet bikes, two units of tactical marines, or two units of gretchin is fine. However, to take a third unit of jetbikes you must take an alternative Troop choice.
- If you want 4 of the same troop then you must take two different types as well. For example, 4 tactical squads and 2 scouts, 4 units of guardians and 2 windriders.
- If you play an army with one troop choice, such as Sisters of Battle, then you can take up to 6.
