All right, I know that Forge World makes a Valkyrie variant that can carry and drop off sentinels and dune buggies. And that the Valk itself can carry 10 hapless Guardsmen down to a planet. But, How does the IG or, rather, the Imperial Navy put the mighty Leman Russ ground side, for that matter I doubt that Valks doing nothing but landing guardsmen non stop would be an efficient way of putting a billion men into action. Thus, there must be some sort of larger drop ship. I know that a few editions back the cover of the Guard codex pictured such a ship, but is there any lore information on it? Rules for it? a model somewhere? I know it would have to be huge, titan size even, but how fun would it be to bring that thing in from reserves into an apoc game?

Gathering the Informations.

You don't even need the Valkyrie Skyclaw to deliver Drop Sentinels. They were previously able to be carried in plain old Valkyries as well.

Imperial Guard drop ships are huge, generally big enough to swallow Titans, and as such don't have either rules or models.

In fact pretty much the only thing that we know about them is that they exist.

There are Escort-sized transport vessels in Battlefleet Gothic but they are far too big to land (1km+ long) so we must assume they carry the drop ships with the troops but their complement is a mystery beyond that they are capable of landing the equivalent of a 2000(iirc) point army in a turn.

Valks and other small dropships are tactical landers, meant to deploy infantry squads on key locations. Moving entire armies around is a task for huge ships like the ones pictured here:

Spoiler:

However, I also think there might be something between the Valkyrie and the huge landing ships of the Imperial Navy -a vessel capable of carrying entire infantry platoons or a Leman Russ-sized tank-, that we just haven't seen yet.

The only vaguely canon ones are the Devourer (http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Devourer_Dropship) and Tetrarch (http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Tetrarch_Heavy_Lander). The one in Agent_Tremolo's image could be a Tetrarch.
