Hey guys where are the quad gun rules located for the aegis defense line? I thought they were in the RB but dont see it in the building rules section.

The 6th edition rulebook had some basic formations in it, including the ADL.

These were reprinted (and expanded on) in Stronghold Assault.

And then cut from the 7th ed rulebook.

Exactly. Why would GW make one of its supplements less valuable by printing fortification rules in the BRB? They want you to buy the other book (which is a decent buy, thankfully)

6th was when they introduced the concept of paying points for terrain and including it in your army. I think giving the rules out for free in the BRB was a way to push old plastic out the door. It was also a way to keep people from rioting about flyers. Don’t have an AA option in your codex? Buy an ADL w/quadgun!

Stronghold Assault was more then just Codex: Fortifications, at the time it was also a FAQ/errata/patch for the poorly worded 6th ed building rules. Which frankly needed it. But that section of the book is pretty useless now.

These days I think it’s still nice to have, but it is a bit of a lame duck. It’s solidly a 6th ed book, and army structure is moving away from the CAD (and it’s free fortification slot). It will be interesting to see what GW does with this in the future.
