WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!

Alright. First try at an orks list. Yes, I know they're bad. Yes, I know that letting my friend build them as her first army is a bad idea. But they're cute little buggers so I'm trying to make them a list that is at least semi-competitive-ish.

HQ choice 1 (Warlord) - Warboss with Bosspole, Power Klaw, Warbike

HQ choice 2 - Painboy with warbike

Elites choice 1 - Meganobz: 6x Killsaws, Trukk dedicated Transport

Elites Choice 2 - Nobz: Boss Nob with Power Klaw, 4 Nobs with power Klaws, 2 nobs with Big Choppas, warbikes for squad

Elites Choice 3 - Tankbustas - Boss Nob and 9 Tankbustas, trukk dedicated Transport.

Troops Choice 1 - Boss Nob w/ power claw, 19 boyz with shootas.

Troops Choice 2 - Same as above

Heavy Support 1 - Battewagon - 2x Rokkit Launcha (For unit of Boyz)

Heavy Support 2 - Same as above

Heavy Support 3 - Deff Dread - 2x Skorcha, 2x power klaw

Basic idea is for the boyz to roll up in the battlewagons and shoot and charge and punch things. The Meganobz jump out of the trukk they're in and assault. The bike nobz, warboss, and painboy all join in a speedy death star of sorts to get in the enemy's face and pop tanks or tear stuff up or whatever they're feeling at the time. Tankbustas do as their name suggests, and the deff dread is kind of iffy, but he can get at some infantry and toast them.

On a side note, any suggestions on building lower points lists out of these models? I want to be able to start playing lower point games while I'm building this list.

At my desk

Well you've got a good and simple and Orky list there that looks like it'll be fun to play and decent when played right (Of course it's not going to take on a Gladius and win but it has potential against most lists).
Deff Dreads aren't actually as useless as some people say they are. They're a cool model and when you have one on the field just use it as a distraction - walk right up the middle of the table and force your opponent to stop attacking your bikes and whatnot and shoot at the Dread, otherwise it's going to drop templates and crush things and generally do some damage.

On that side note to make it smaller I'd drop the Painboy (HQ choices have a very low points spent-model count ratio), drop the Dread (yes, I just said they're cool and their model is excellent but it's not the best element of the list), and cut fancy bits on the Nob Bikers (Or maybe even run them as regular bikers) so that instead of being a big deathstar they're more of an escort for your Warboss, so they won't be as killy but Ork Bikers are one of the best units in the Codex.

Hope this has helped.

Just did a quick list in Battle Scribe, when you said small points I just kind of defaulted to 1000 points. If it isn't 1000 points then oh well. I tried to preserve the core of the list and it's ideas.

HQ:
Warboss - Power Klaw, Warbike, Bosspole
Elites:
MegaNobz - Killsaws, Trukk
Troops:
Boyz - Nob with Power Klaw & Bosspole, 19 Shootas
Boyz - Nob with Power Klaw & Bossploe, 19 Sluggas (I'm sorry, I know your list has Shootas but I wanted to fit in the extra Bosspoles)
Fast Attack:
Warbikers - Nob with Power Klaw, 4 warbikers
Heavy Support:
Battlewagon - 2xRokkit Launcha
Battlewagon - 2xRokkit Launcha

It's 999 points. I thought the Bosspoles would help with Leadership, you can leave them off and go back to two squads of shootas.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

If I do cut the points in places you said, what would you recommend doing with the extra space?

If you trim some of the kill saws off you can get a few more points there too. I would personally try to keep a painboy in there to go with the nobz or meganobz but 6 killsaws is overkill. I would only go with 1-2 at most. They are S8 and 9 on the charge so armourbane is just to make sure you pen. So that's 40 points and if you find 10 more from somewhere you just got the meganobz FNP for anything less than S8.

My Armies:
Orks about 15000-16000 mostly unpainted but slowly being worked on
Militarum Tempestus about 2000 points just built
Inquisition about 2000 points unpainted
Officio Assassinorum 570 unpainted
I dont paint quickly
