I need help friends. A friend of mind recently picked up warhammer and he bought a used Eldar army and it's basically an OP power list. Here's what he's got: Wraithknight, x2 wraithlords, x10 warp spiders, 5 reapers, x3 waveserpents, 1 fire prism, x15 wraithguard, x10 dire avengers, x10 guardians, x6 scatter bikes, and farseer. And boy o boy does he like his wraith-stuff. He is a noob so I have the advantage of knowing more than him, but he is starting to catch on to the game and I'm finding his army impossible to defeat. I don't have a lot of options to choose from, I played CSM for years, but anyways here's the list I came up with.
HQ
Bloodthirster of Insensate Rage 275
Troops
x8 CSM with meltagun 140
rhino 35

x8 cultists 58

Elites
x4 Terminators x4 powerfists 166
Landraider 230
Fast Attack
x2 Spawn 64
Heavy Support
Soulgrinder with phlegm 165
Soulgrinder with phlegm 165
Allied Detachment: Chaos Daemons
HQ
Bloodthirster of Unfettered Fury with Greater Reward and Grimoire of True Names: 300
Troops
x10 Bloodletters 100
The goal is to get Grimoire of True Names off on the D-Thirster. If it ever fails, then I guess I either have to hide him or swoop him. I'll keep the Bloodthirster with the Grimoire somewhere behind the Land Raider for cover. So I'll move forward with 4 rhinos for cover, then behind that the Land Raider, Thirster and Soul Grinders. The goal is to deliver the D-Thirster safely somehow so that he can start hitting stuff.
I know this strat sounds risky. If i fail a grimoire roll, RIP. And even if I get the grimoire off, it's still only a 3+ save when Eldar has so many guns... But at least it seems better than just deepstriking him cold-turkey which is what I've been doing in the past. It's so frustrating that the Wraithknight is so tall it basically negates all my attempts to get over.
And sorry guys, try to not recommend flesh hounds, be'lakor, or fateweaver, I don't have the models and I really really don't want to add psychic powers into a Khorne list--I'd rather lose. But yeah, I might end up picking up some hounds for my next purchase depending on how things go.
BTW, other units I have available not featured in this list are: khorne berzerkers, chaos lord, kharn the betrayer (would need allied detachment), obliterators (needs allies again), possessed (proxied), hellbrute, typhus, and lots and lots of guardsmen/cultists.
