The game was officially released yesterday on the Riot Games site. From the Watch It Played videos the production quality is excellent and the gameplay looks like a lot of fun. Best of all the price is only $75 US. So are any DakkaDakka members buying a copy?

Yeah, I ordered a copy. Spent a few hours fighting their store website, but eventually got through.

Components look great. The gameplay is the big question, but the Watch it Played video was encouraging.

Biggest bummer is the box size. Where in the heck am I going to put that thing!? It's almost a whole shelf by itself... ^_^

I agree. But with 100 Minions alone I can't see how they could have downsized it. But I also like the fact that it comes with storage trays. I had to pay $30 extra for a decent foam insert for WQ: Silver Tower. And I still don't have a viable solution for Assassinorum: Execution Force!

The first half of Wave 1 (October delivery) is sold out, but, last I heard, they have the second half (December delivery).

I picked up a copy on the off chance that its any good. If not its not the first time this month I purchased a bad game...

To be honest its 100 minions, but there are really only a couple of different sculpts.

Only four sculpts. They're just minions, though.
* One minion holding an axe upwards with two hands.
* One minion holding an axe upwards, but with ONE hand.
* One minion holding an axe, but TO THE RIGHT!!!
* One minion NOT holding an axe and just the shield. OMG WTF BBQ!!!

Minions have the same gameplay, so the various minion sculpts don't really do more for me than the various Zombicide walker sculpts. Maybe, since there's a timer, Riot found were they to have minions with different gameplay, the game didn't play as well as having all minions play the same.

The minions are unpainted but have a wash, so you can see the details when you hold them up close. But, assuming you'll be moving the minions with your hands and not your nose, all the sculpts all sorta look the same on the board unpainted. (So paint them!)

One also nice thing about the tray is that the wells are not sculpt specific! You can put any minion miniature in any minion well. Take that, CMON!
