I'm curious to hear what everyone thinks of the new kill team. I personally really enjoy it. The small games let you get more invested in each model and the desire to keep them alive. Making guys into specialists makes those models that you painted slightly different(or better) than the others, or gave names to them that much more interesting. I may be a little biased since I tend to do better in smaller games but I was talking to someone not too long ago saying that it is too easy to set things up in your favour and the game is broken(personally I think you can do this with regular 40k). I haven't run into this problem, then again I do not play much, so I was wondering what you guys think. Is it fun to play? Is it broken? If it is broken, how should it be fixed? Is the herald of ruins version better(I haven't tried it yet)? What armies seem to excel at it?

Looking forward to hearing what you guys think.

I'm not a regular 40k player, but I like it. Low model count makes it a really fun hobby project and the 30ish minute playtime is a lot easier to forgive its blemishes and get in another game. It seems to play very well to the strengths of the 40k model line, though it also emphasizes how woefully outdated the codex system is.

It's fun; its also probably breakable. High model counts can be tough to deal with, as its possible to reach numbers that are hard to trigger break tests on. The few Vehicles allowed also walk a fine line between being durable and impossible to kill. Neither is insurmountable, just something you have to plan for.

Personally, its about the level that I enjoy 40k. Probably couldn't sustain itself as my main game, but its a good little way to play with some really awesome toys.

I really enjoy it, plays quick & dirty, not too much nonsense. Some stuff can be pretty good in kill team, where in normal games they might struggle. You can break the game, in some obvious ways, but I don't think the spirit of KT really promotes that.

Its alright, i dont like some of the restrictions placed on it, i more prefer HoR because i can make a lot more fun lists, but its a good way to see how normal 40k is played in a smaller scale.

To many unpainted models to count.

My only issue so far is broken eldsr are still broken xD.

My current kt list that's 6-0 In games atm is

Warp Spiders(one get FnP, another gets preferred enemy)x 5 -95
Warp spider exarch with spinneret rifle(leader) -44

Jetbikes X 2 - 34
Scatterbike(reaping volley to split fire all its shots)- 27

Total - 200

Only 10 guys so you'd think horde would be the weakness but no, they have ridiculous jump shoot jump crap that keeps them super safe in kt where there is terrain en masse. Reaping volley scatterlaser puts in WORK. but other than that, this is a kt list with 16 s6 shots, 12 of which wound off initiative and are ap2 on wound rolls of 6. So while I love kt balancing most of the game, it did break a couple unit's even more(flickerjump out of Los super easy one model at a time).

The new campaign rules are really nice. Simple, short, clean, and add just enough added crunch to further differentiate Kill Team from typical 40k.

Its no Necromunda, but as a free give-away its a nice step.

I'm really diggin it. The only down side I've experienced is that vehicles still feel a little too strong.

But on another note, you can play units that don't normal make it into your regular lists. For example, I ran a Thousand Son squad in a rhino. Good times and fun to play models I don't play often.
