Subject: Could Sisters of Silence ally with a Traitor Legion?

I like the look of the Sister of Silence models and plan on jumping into 30K with the new Burning of Prospero box, however I plan on taking Alpha Legion.
Correct me if I am wrong but there are currently no 30K rules for Sisters that would forbid it.... But in terms of fluff, would it be justifiable to have some Sisters of a Traitor Legion army or would that not fit?
Thats a little bit of a lore question but really... as 30K players, what do you think? Would you look twice seeing them on the tabletop or would you think nothing of seeing some Sisters in a Traitor Legion force?

Pretty unlikely I'd say, since the Sisters of Silence directly served the Emperor himself, or at least indirectly through Malcador. It'd be like some Custodes allying with a Traitor Legion.
Also, given that the Silent Sisterhood's purpose was to operate the Black Ships to round up humans with Psychic Potential and/or hunt down said humans with Psychic Potential it seems kinda unlikely that they would ally with forces siding with the warp-powers.
The Alpha Legion could be an exception here, due to their Batman Gambit they had going on with the Cabal, but you'd want to spin it as a web of falsehoods and layers of secrecy. But then again you could just about justify anything with the Alpha Legion like that.

I think, being Alpha Legion, the reasoning behind them being include in the army could have something to do with traitor legion tricking the sisters into believing that they are fighting for the good guys where, in fact, they are not.

“Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.
The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does.
That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

Come to think about it. In one of the book there was a Alpha legion force who were supposedly completely loyalist and were against the rest of the legion.(without saying specifics in case you or anyone here hasn't this specific book.) But if you were playing against Alpha Legion, would you potentially fluffily believe that MAYBE these are those loyalists?... maybe, and that these Sisters are aware of that... Or are they? Maybe its the Batman thing like you said? Or maybe everyone is lying to each other, who knows, I don't know? layers of secrecy as you say *shady eyes*

I think it's pushing it, even for the Alpha Legion. Their participation in Istvaan V to me would just make alarm bells ring for any imperial agent. Manipulated into action by them is one thing, openly supporting them in battle is a different matter.
That said, fluff and rules don't have to be related, so if the rules allow it I wouldn't mind.

Each traitor legion did have loyalist components; some of them even have loyalist special characters.

The Warmaster Horus managed to convince some of the most powerful organizations and people in the Imperium to join his cause. Why couldn't he do the same with some of the Sisters of Silence?
At the beginning of the Heresy, the Warmaster lured all the Legions that were not 100% loyal or disloyal to him, and commenced the Betrayal at Isstvan III. Purging his own ranks to ensure he had only Legions 100% loyal to him. Even as the Heresy continued, many Legions had to deal with Space Marines that wanted to join the Warmaster, and others to continue with their loyalty to the Emperor. There was so much discord and chaos going on during the Heresy, that it would be entirely possible for "Loyalist" units to end up fighting with "Traitor" factions against another "Loyalist" or "Traitor" army.
Rules wise, I think it will be reflected in the Allies in the Age of Darkness chart. The Custodians in November's White Dwarf are place holder rules using Agents of the Imperium and will only ally with a Loyalist faction. We'll have to wait a bit longer it looks like for 30K rules for the Sisters of Silence. Unless they get their own line on the Alliance chart, it's probably safe to assume "Agents of the Imperium" and "only ally with Loyalist faction".

Even if they dont have rules to be traitor:
-You could play a loyalist contingent from a traitor legions.
-You could play the miniaturas as Khorne Maidens and anti-wichtcraft allies for the World Eaters.
-Disguised members or units for the Alpha Legion.
The limit is you imagination (and your pocket).

I think playing Loyalist Alphas (or Alphas pretending to be loyal... /twirls mustache ) is the way to accommodate this.

I'm smelling a narrative scenario pre-heresy against some orks - sisters of silence accompanying a marine legion force to ensure the 'no-psycic-power usage' compiance.

Thanks guys, your mustache twirling and narrative smelling inspires me to scheme deeper into possible explanations.
