So I am setting out to create an army based on the principles in Clausewitz’s “On War”; basically this stresses flexibility, speed and redundancy. This means combined arms really, transported infanty, close air support and tanks. Guard are an obvious choice but I actually want to go with marines because the idea in these armies is that each soldier is superbly trained and drilled (it was a philosophy stressed by those who knew themselves likely to be outnumbered). I will theme them around US special forces, basically aiming to use tactical squads and or scouts as the Rangers and sternguard as Delta Force.

I’ve got my colour scheme down, a tentative fluff background, a first tactical squad painted up and some rhino conversions going using parts of Bradley’s (it will become pretty obvious I’m not intending to use this in competitive play as I use some forgeworld stuff), I’ll be sharing some photos soon enough. What I would like help with is the actual list and how to make this extremely stylized army reasonably competitive at around 2000pts having never played 7th edition. I've posted an unbound list and two forged lists, any comments on their viability in terms of a take all comers list would be greatly appreciated.
