Played a small game at my local GW the other night, and pretty much steamrolled my opponent with sheer weight of numbers. Here's what I had:

Big mek w/ big choppa, KFF

Boyz mob w/ eavy armour –1 boy w/ big shoota; 8 boyz w/ shootas; nob w/ twin-linked shoota

Boyz mob – 9 boyz w/ slugga/choppa; nob w/ big choppa

Boyz mob – 1 boy w/ big shoota; 9 boyz w/ shootas

Gretchin mob – 10 grots; runtherd

Lootas – 5 lootas

Deffkopta w/ twin-lnked rokkit

So next week I feel like mixing things up a bit. Here's what else I have available and painted:

• 2 more shoota boyz in eavy armour

• Nob w/ choppa and kombi-skorcha

• 10 more shoota boyz

• Killa kan w/ grotzooka

• 14 more grotz and another runtherd

• Warboss in mega-armour

• 3x MANz, one with a kombi-skorcha

• Trukk w/ big shoota

• Big mek w/ shokk attack gun

I'm trying to come up with a list that'll play a bit differently from just firing as many boyz as I can across the board, that'll be fun to play, and to play against. Anyone got any cool suggestions? Much as I'd like to bring the boss and MANz, that's going to eat up a significant chunk of my points so maybe I should leave them at home for a game this small. the game the other day was the first time I'd used my KFF mek (I've a self-imposed policy of not using anything til it's painted) and I was delighted with the increased resilience of my boyz, so I'd probably like to keep him, particularly as the tables at my local don't seem to be particularly heavy on terrain, compared with what I'm used to at home.

If you want different try lots of bikes and Zhadsnark as your warlord. Makes bikes troops. He has initiative striking power klaw and gives his bike squad a 2+ Jink save. Not to mention everyone will be toughness 5 with 3 twin linked S5 AP 5 shots. Speed, weight of fire, and 4+sv eith 3+\ 2+ jink.

It'd certainly be a big change, but I don't think I have the time or money to buy, build and paint 500pts of bikes by next week!

If you look at my gallery you will see I converted some marine bikes I had found on eBay for cheap. I recently won 10 older ork bikes for about $20 American on eBay and just update them a little with extra ork bits. Do you know anyone you could borrow ork or marine bikes from? Does a he store require you to paint them? If I went to a store and they told me I had to have them painted I'd tell them to pound sand. Especially with what we pay for models.

Another option that may be frowned upon. I may or may not know someone who may have molded and cast resin bikes to use in his army. Once other bits and bobs were added and painted they look like the retail McCoy.
