In the upcoming Mantic Warpath game, the Asterian (not-Eldar) faction has weird, retro cavalry units, the kalyshi mogals. The kalyshi are these throwback units that attack with "energy" bows and swords (I'm using my Eldar army, and have a pack of Howling Banshees with their pistols and swords who will serve admirably). So these cavalry kalyshi mogals don't have models yet, and I figure I'd just run with my imagination.

Any ideas of what might serve, based on my fevered imagination? I was thinking of getting a pack of Seekers of Slaanesh, because I love those trippy steeds they ride on - but I'm not that keen on the riders. What sort of weird retro sci fi riders might groove on those beasts?

I sort of imagine the kalyshi mogals as being kind of kroot-ish (they totally aren't, but hey, I've got a vivid imagination!), but the Tau kroot allies don't appear to have any cavalry units.

Macrocosm have a really cool unit, the Tevari, but it's not available yet.



I'm kind of going for the Ralph Bakshi vibe here, but I'm at a loss for who might make stuff like this



Any manufacturers I should check out? Ideas? Minis I should look into? Pics and links most welcome.

You might want to try the cold one riders from the fantasy range. Might even be able to get some use out of the dark elves (or whatever they call themselves these days) riding them.

As far as I know, I'd second Nevelon's suggestion. The Dark Elf cold one riders are probably the best option out there. They're not even expensive considering GW's current standards.

Dark Eldar or Eldar bike riders? Or wait to see what Mantic bring out?
