Another player new to 30k here, I threw this together but am not entirely happy with it and am looking for anyone with a little more knowledge about 30k to give me some options to think about.

Calas Typhon.

Siege Breaker w/ Artificer Armour, Refractor Field.

10-man Cataphractii squad w/ 2 Heavy Flamers, 10 Lightning Claws, Volkite Charger, Grenade Harness, Rad Grenades, Chem-munitions.

Spartan Assault Tank w/ Auxiliary Drive, Armoured Ceremite, Flare Shield.

Contemptor w/ Kheres Assault Cannon, Power fist.

3-weapon Rapier Quad Launchers w/ Phosphex, Shatter.

20-man Tac squad w/ additional Chainswords, Nuncio-Vox, Vexilla, Rad Grenades.

Medusa w/ Extra Armour.

Get a Medusa and Phosphex shells! with your Voxes you only need to draw line of fire from the unit and not the Medusa. It is absolute murder.

That and a Spartan are planned for the expansion to 3k points

I would drop the upgrades on the seige breaker and just have him sit with the the Rapiers to give them tank hunter, then use the extra points to give them shatter shells as well because you have a ton of anti infantry but almost non existent anti tank. A list with Vindicators, Spartans or Sicarans is going to tear you to pieces. I would also find points for apothecaries for your tac blobs if possible. Wouldn't hurt to swap at least one of those support squads for a Missile launcher heavy support squad as they'd count as troops with The Reaping.

Good call on the Shatter Shells, but why put the Siege Breaker with them? Shatter Shells have Sunder which lets you re-roll just like Tank Hunters. Am I missing something?

Expanded the list to 3000 points with the above advice in mind
