Suppose all models in a unit have the Mark of Khorne.  According to C:CSM, "Models with the Mark of Khorne are all gifted with Blood Frenzy."  It then says, "Models with Blood Frenzy" gain certain abilities like +1 attack.

Now if the unit with MoK is also given Furious Charge.  C:CSM says that on the charge, "all models will be at +1 Initiative and +1 Strength."

If one or more of the models is now given wargear that includes a Daemonic Spawn and/or a Chaos Hound, does the Spawn and/or the Hound benefit from Blood Frenzy?  From Furious Charge?

According to the C:CSM, Spawn and Hounds are followers, and thus "form part of the unit that the character belongs to."  But, do they have to be given Furious Charge separately (i.e., do you have to buy it for them as well as for the character that takes them as wargear)?  Or do they automatically benefit from Furious Charge?  And as for Blood Frenzy, does the benefit carry over from the character to its follower/wargear? Or does it apply at all?

yo Sloths! Check the USR at the back of the rulebook. It lists which rules apply to:

- characters/units joining other squads with skills/rules, and
- characters with rules/skills that are conferred to units it joins.

BT,

Sorry for the late response (I've been out of town for the last three weeks or so).

I've looked over the USR section in the rulebook and I still don't see an answer to my question.  The character (Aspiring Champion) would be an upgraded CSM and wouldn't be joining a unit, and Furious Charge isn't a *-ability anyway.  Blood Frenzy comes with the MoK, so the AC would have it automatically.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but I still can't figure out what happens to followers in this situation.

Neither hounds nor spawn benefit from furious charge, and since they're not proper chaos marines they can't have it bought for them. But their presence won't prevent the squad from using furious charge, in this case the USR section is the best (and only) place to take the ruling from.

On the Rlood Rage, its a simple movment issue. Hounds get a rule saying they move at whatever speed their owner moves at so they simply tag along (bikes, cavalry, fleet or whatever - they just keep up). Spawns don't have this rule and thus only move at 6", this leaves you at the main rule where units move at the speed of the slowest model (bottom of p15 in the BGB). So if you had a spawn in the unit and they raged, they would move the full 6" towards the nearest enemy, not be able to shoot but gain no extra movement.

So when it comes to beserkers; hounds good, spawns bad.

From the 4.0.1 Chaos FAQ:

"... Chaos Spawn may be affected by the extra movement allowed by Blood Frenzy."
