Hello guys i am thinking of starting a Space Marine list and i want to have the most OP list possible and i need your help.
From what i have seen the most powerful list seems to be the Battle Company list with the 10 free Razorbacks or am i wrong? I have a few questions.

*Should you always go White Scars?

*Are fire hatch Rhinos better than the razorbacks?

*Is the lascannon upgrade on the Razorbacks worth it?

*Should you go minimum tacticals and assault squads and what weapons for the devastator squads?

*Is Centurion Star the strongest thing to complement the Battle Company with and if you take it is Librarius Conclave an auto include?

*Should you complement the Battle Company with bikes?

*Is Librarius Conclave recommended?

*What is the strongest auxiliary force? The 10th Company Task Force, Landraider Spearhead, Armoured Task Force and Suppresion force all seem very strong to me.

GIVE ME THE FILTHIEST LISTS AND ADVICE YOU GUYS HAVE!

Welcome to Dakka and the Space Marines.

The full company gladus plays objective missions very well. As long as those make up the bulk of tournaments, you should do well with it.

White Scars are generically good. Hit and Run will help get you out of combats you don’t want to be in, so you can get back to shooting.

Generally I see gun upgrades on the razors. Las/Plas is another frequent recommendation, sometimes TLAsC.

MSU is the name of the game. No reason to bulk out squads. Gun upgrades are generally going to be grav and melta.

There is a very high buy-in just getting the warm bodies to the table. This means you should probably keep your eyes on the low-cost auxes. 10th co can be dirt cheep, but the suppression force or the AA are also easy on the points, and play into the armor spam that a wall of razors projects.

Bikes are good. One downside in this list is the opportunity cost of not getting another free razor. Also, by having a squad that’s actually worth shooting at (rather then walls of chaff) it might draw more heat then they can take. But if you can fit them in (or a bike command squad) go for it.

Librarians, especially in a conclave, open up the door to a lot of shenanigans. Always a good thing in tournaments.

(Full disclosure, I’m personally not a fan of these kinds of lists, effective though they are. But I wanted to welcome you to Dakka and give some generic advice. Hopefully someone who actually plays in the tournament scene can give more concrete advice)

Filthy list?

Iron Hands 1850 Fist of Medusa Detachment

Core:
Armored Task Force
Whirlwind x3
Techmarine on Bike

Auxiliary:
Honored Ancients
Dreadnaught with Powerfist, Multimelta

Strike Force Command
Chapter Master with Powerfist, Lightning Claw, Gorgon's Chain, and Artificer Armor on a Bike
Command Squad x4 on Bike with Storm Shields and Grav Guns
Apothecary on Bike

Librarius Conclave
ML2 Librarian on Bike with Force Staff
ML2 Librarian on Bike with Force Axe
ML2 Librarian with Jump Pack and Force Axe

You should have a significant amount of points to add whatever you want, but this is the core. It revolves around a Chapter Master tanking all wounds with a 2+ armor save, 3+inv, and 2+ FnP. You can roll on the Angels of Death Librarian Table to get Veil of Time and reroll all your saves, giving you a 2+ armor save with reroll and 2+ Feel No Pain. You need to roll 3 straight 1s (4 if you want to Look Out Sir) in order for wounds to get put onto the Chapter Master, who also has It Will Not Die.

And they won't. The squad can go toe to toe with any threat in the game.

It's extremely boring to play and terribly unfun to play against. I usually run multiple Space Wolf Battle Leaders with Powerfists and Artificer Armor on Thunderwolves for the massed S10 attacks and another 2+ armor save that is almost impossible to penetrate and can be Look Out Sir'ed to.

It suffers a little against battle company, but they can literally not hurt any of your characters with appropriate positioning. Once you get to your Psychic Phase and Veil of Time goes off, the unit is literally unkillable over the course of the game.

What do you suggest filling out the rest of the list with?
