That is not a bad start.
What is your environment like? Casual players, lots of tournament players, a mix? Also, what kind of missions and restrictions do you expect to have? Often people limit the amount of tanks and monstrous creatures that can be taken at low point values because it can be hard to bring the right tools for a wide range of threats and the game can turn into rock paper scissors.
Very few armies can handle a flying Hive Tyrant at 500 points. Bringing one is not a move that is going to earn you many friends. Assuming that you are not worried about that, here are some thoughts to further optimize your build.
Your only source of synapse is the Hive Tyrant. He is going to want to be very aggressive and will tend to leave the rest of the army behind. The Termagants and Biovores need a synapse babysitter to keep them useful. The Mucolids are not going to be very useful to you. They can be placed on an objective or deep strike onto one to act as area denial, but won't do much more because of how slow they are. Don't forget that they do not score or deny objectives. A single Mucolid is almost always just as good as three of them. Their true value lies in being extremely cheap troops choices that unlock formations, which is not something you are worried about here.
I recommend you drop the Mucolid's and the Biovores and replace them with a squad of Warriors and at least one Venomthrope. Normally I don't recommend Warriors, because they are not great units, but they have value in small points games. They provide synapse to keep your 'gaunts under control while the Tyrant wins the game for you, can score objectives, and if given a Barbed Strangler, can impact the game by taking potshots at enemy infantry. Venomthropes keep the rest of your army alive by giving them that sweet sweet cover bonus.
Three Warriors with a Barbed Strangler and and Rending Claws costs ~115 points. The Venomthropes cost 45 each, so if you take two you have 15 points left, which you can use for extra Termagants or a Mucolid.
